About this listen

1895. Former Scotland Yard detective Daniel Wilson, made famous from his days working the Jack the Ripper case, and his archaeologist sidekick Abigail Fenton are summoned to investigate the murder of a young woman at the Manchester Museum. Though staff remember the woman as a recent and regular visitor, no one appears to know who she is, and she has no possessions which identify her. Seeking help from a local journalist, Daniel hopes to unravel this mystery, but the journey to the truth is fraught with obstacles.

Wonderful. I have thoroughly enjoyed all of this authors museum mysteries and am looking forward to the next at the Botanical Gardens. The plots are sufficiently complex, the voicing and d dialogue believable and the historic factoids interesting.
Highly recommended

History has so many tragic stories and this incorporates one of them. But it bleeds into current day or at least in this story. There are evil people who will do whatever to cover up truths. A mystery with murder and intense characters.

Good

fun continuing chapter in Daniel and Abigail's adventures!
I love how the grow as a couple and continue to find out new things about each other.
The story was entertaining and just what I need sometimes.

After liking the adventures of Daniel and Abigail so far, this one was kind of a dud. Author used a heavy hand to "right" historical wrongs which made it as much a soapbox as a mystery.

Wasn't for me I'm afraid

While i valued learning details of history, in addition to being entertained by what formerly had been an adequately written cozy mystery , i found this story excessively violent. A warning could go on the intro or book description. For that reason i gave this book a lower rating than the others in the series. The narrator is still a 4 star in my opinion

Unnessesarily violent
