Excellent

Superb! This is a fabulous series. Hillary is a great character, as are all the members of her team in their own ways.

There are a few storylines in this book and it makes things interesting. And shocking.

The narration was another fine job by Gemma Dawson.

Engrossing!

procedural, England, law-enforcement, family, family-dynamics, family-drama, suspense, murder, multiple-murder, murder-investigation, assassins, secrets, lies, frenemy, friends, friendship, frustration*****

This is book eight in a long running series but can easily be read as a stand alone (or out of order).
It's the mystery/procedural that's the grabber. The interpersonals between the squad are very interesting and realistic, but they are just the icing on the cake.
The first murder requires more due diligence than most and the process is hindered by an unknown sniper who is targeting law enforcement in a number of districts causing fear in each officer. Great details and the suspense keeps mounting through all the diabolical twists and sneaky red herrings!
Gemma Dawson is the voice actor who really brings even more credibility to the story.
