About this listen

From the authors of the best-selling series CHERRINGHAM

Lavinia's annual Masked Ball at Mydworth Manor is a highlight of the season, as locals mingle with the great and famous from London. But the lavish party comes to a full stop when one of the guests is found dead down by the lake. It seems it's a clear case of a heart attack. But Harry and Kat suspect that the dead man in a mask was in fact the victim of a clever case of murder. And the killer's work at the party is not yet done...

Nathaniel Parker, born in 1962, graduated from the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art and went on to join the Royal Shakespeare Company. His television career began in 1988 when he played Flying Officer 'Flash' Gordon in the LWT mini-series "Piece of Cake". He is also the lead in the BBC series "The Inspector Lynley Mysteries", based on the novels by Elizabeth George. Nathaniel Parker has an extensive list of audio books to his credit, ranging from the classics of Charles Dickens and Thomas Hardy to more modern writings and children's books.

What a wonderful old style mystery. Costello and Richards do it again by unfolding a delightful tale around characters that we have learned to love. The only small distraction is the voice that is used for the women characters. It takes getting used to.

Overall another triumph!

Quaint old fashion mystery with style!

Lovely mystery story in a great setting. The development and alight change to Lavinia's character was welcome. I think a full-blown novel is in order soon, please. Excellent narration.

Lovely, ready for full novel!

Lots of sub plots to stay up with in this murder story but a lot of fun along the way as are the others in this series. Many characters and the bad guys don't win. If you love cozy historical mysteries, you will love this one and the price is always right as is the time to read it.

I don't know about you. However, I am so tired of being put on edge all the time by reading thrillers. Don't even get me started about the foul language and graphic violence. All the books in this mystery series are mild-mannered, yet entertaining. Listening to these Mydworth Mysteries are the perfect antidote to a hectic, stressful day.

A Mild Mystery

I really enjoy how these two solve crimes together. The authors have developed strong characters with great backgrounds.

Kat is a strong female lead who works with her new husband to solve mysteries. Harry is intelligent and witty as a new husband and equally strong male lead character. They solve the cases by each contributing their strengths and trusting the others abilities.
Love this series.

Good & fun detective team

I enjoy reading everything these two write. The husband and wife in this series are charming. She is an impulsive New Yorker who has married a low key Brit who works for the government. Both havet been in the foreign service of their respective nations. Now renovating the dower house of his family estate they keep busy as investigators of local issues. Each new story presents a different problem that maintains our interest from introduction to unexpected conclusion

This duo does it again
