Marie Moorhead looked like a million bucks, even at the age of 84. In Hollywood, you never outgrow the need to prove your relevance.

Too bad she was murdered on the eve of her book launch.

Marie knew secrets about everyone in Hollywood. And when you’re 84, why save them? Because those who are outed might just kill to keep those secrets from going public. Join Kat, the ghostwriter and amateur detective, and her dog Rudy as they search for the murderer before Kat becomes the next victim.

Not Bad

This is my first Dianne Harman novel. It starts out ok. Drags in the middle and picks up at the end. I admit I did skip a few passages as I thought the narrative was being dragged out. Overall not a bad novel. I will listen to more from this author.

Engaging Cozy Mystery

Murdered in Hollywood is the eighth book in Dianne Harman's Midwest Cozy Mystery series. I enjoyed the story. Several twists and turns to the plot, a rather short suspect list but Harman kept me guessing as to the culprit. I liked the characters. Kat kept digging into the murder of her friend despite the danger to herself. Would she figure out whodunit before it was too late? The story kept my interest and I look forward to reading more in the series. I listened to a complimentary copy of the audiobook and Susan Carlson did a nice job narrating the book. I was not required to write a review and the opinions are my own.

A Pleasant Cozy Mystery

Dianne Harman's settings are descriptive and filled with details. Her characters are humane and charismatic. In both settings and characters, this book did not disappoint me. The detail that caused me some dissatisfaction though, was that the amateur detective Kat, was given the key piece of evidence that allowed her to know who the murderer was, but the reader was not given that clue. On the whole, the book was entertaining and I recommend it to others who like this genre. Susan Carlson's narration is fabulous and expressive. I was given a free copy of the audiobook and I have voluntarily left this review.
