About this listen

Q: What’s the opposite of a “meet cute?”

A: Meeting a handsome guy at the very moment you’re breaking out in hives all over your body.

The mysterious allergic reaction I have at the hockey game is terrifying. But it’s just a little less terrifying when a big, strong equipment manager for the Brooklyn Bruisers saves the day.

That’s how I meet James “Jimbo” Carozza. When I’m alone and frightened, he gets me the help I need and delivers me safely to the emergency room.

Too bad I don’t even get his number....

Loved this one! Great bonus!

I absolutely loved this story! I loved seeing Jimbo find his person and some of the antics that the team get up to have me laughing out loud. The pizza scene is one of my all-time favorites and I truly adored it! I loved these two characters and am hoping that we get to see more of them (even just little tidbits) in future books in the series!
The narrators did a great job with it!

Short and sweet (but not completely sweet!)

I love that Sarina Bowen gave us the sweet story of the equipment manager of the Brooklyn Bruisers, the hockey team from her series. He’s not the typical hero - the star athlete, the team owner, etc. - but just an average Jim who happens to be gorgeous. Emily is also not a typical h, a student with a boyfriend who takes her for granted, and she meets Jimbo while having an unexpected allergic reaction. I would love to have seen more of their relationship going forward, but for a novella it was just right. Stephen Dexter and Lena Lee were fantastic and brought a really good Brooklyn accent. Great easy quick listen for a lazy afternoon.

So fun!

I originally read this when Sarina released it as a serial in her newsletter last year and loved it, and I still love it after listening to it!
I forgot how funny the pizza date was, it made me laugh out loud. There were some other scenes with the hcokey team that were funny, love those guys.
James is the sweetest and Charles is a jerk- to not even stay to make sure your girlfriend was okay?!? Ugh.
This was just a fun and sweet read.

The narrators were very good, I love Stephen Dexter. There were just a few times when his Brooklyn accent would drop, but other than that, he was great. Lena Lee also did a really great job with her performance.

Nice short story

This is a sweet short story; the characters are so likable. This is short and left me wanting more, I'm a fan of Sarina Bowen's hockey books, this is a small taste. I didn't really care for the male reader, not bad, just not my taste and Lena Lee was very good, no need for a second reader.

Nice extra

This story was cute, Jimbo is adorable. My main problem was the narrators. The male narrator sounded too old for a 23 year old and the female narration was just not my cup of tea.
Overall the story was cute, I like seeing the players get invested in Jimbo’s love life

Smiling for days

Oh, my heart!!! I read Must Love Hockey when it was released in serial form and couldn't WAIT to get my hands on this novella so I could have it all in one place. This novella is sweet, funny and full of heart. This is something I will come back to again when I need a smile..and a sigh.

If you've read any of Sarina Bowen's Brooklyn Bruisers books then you've met Jimbo. If you haven't, it's ok. You can absolutely follow this just fine-but I guarantee you that you'll want to read more. But I digress. I adore Jimbo. Strong, smart and sexy-and did I mention he's sweet?? He has one of the BEST lines ever in a romance, I swear. I couldn't stop smiling!

Emily is so much fun. Smart and spunky and just the kind of girl I'd love to hang out with. I loved getting to know her throughout this novella!

I loved everything about this-from the meet cute to the very end. I was completely smitten. And can we talk about the audio of this for a moment? PERFECTION. Stephen Dexter just killed it and I loved Lena Lee!! She was new to me but I thought she did a great job bringing Emily to life.

I've now read this twice and listened once...because it's just that good. I absolutely enjoyed every moment of this novella and can't recommend it enough!
