About this listen

A brand new stand-alone romantic comedy from the best-selling, award-winning team of Sarina Bowen & Elle Kennedy.

Hosting her brother's wedding for an MVP guest list is the challenge of Jess Canning's life. Already the family screw-up, she can't afford to fail. And nobody (nobody!) can learn of the colossal mistake she made with the best man during a weak moment last spring. It was wrong, and there will not be a repeat. Absolutely not. Even if he is the sexiest thing on two legs.

Blake Riley sees the wedding as fate's gift to him. Jess is the maid of honor and he's the best man? Let the games begin. So what if he's facing a little (fine, a lot) of resistance? He just needs to convince the stubborn blonde that he's really a good boy with a bad rap. Luckily, every professional hockey player knows that you've got to make an effort if you want to score.

But Jess has more pressing issues to deal with than sexy-times with a giant man-child. Such as: will the ceremony start on time, even though someone got grandma drunk? Does glitter ever belong at a wedding? And is it wrong to murder the best man?

Caution: May cause accidental aspiration of tea or coffee. Do not listen in a public place where loud laughter is inappropriate. Contains hot but hilarious hockey players, puppy cuddling, and a snarky pair of underwear. Cover art copyright Okay Creations.

Read Him and Us first!

The first time I tried this book, I returned it in disgust halfway through the first chapter. You really need to meet Blake in the first 2 books to understand him. Otherwise, he comes off like a pushy, tone deaf asshat.

Blake is a lot of things: ridiculous, loyal, annoying, intuitive, loud, afraid of sheep...I love him and his crazy, ADD antics. He and Jess are both real people with real failings who are doing their best and growing together. This book is a lot of fun.

Loved this story.

This is a spin off of Him/Us by the same authors. Should definitely listen to those first. This one was so much fun with Jamie and We’s friend Blake and sis Jen. Blake is such a funny guy. He’s also 6.5, muscles and a star hockey player. Hot! 🔥
Teddy Hamilton was awesome as a narrator and I liked the female narrator but I think she sounded a lot older than a girl in her 20’s. It was hard to get use to at first. If it wasn’t 1 person point of view I’d been fine w/ it but it was. Other than that this story was perfection!

Slaked my thirst but only a little

To be Honest the main reason I got this book was just to get a little more of Wes and Jamie and while I got a little of them it was nowhere near enough. Also Blake is the character that I fell in love with and I wish there had been more of the book from his perspective especially as Teddy Hamilton is perfection as Blake. Tanya Eby is decent but too clipped for me. Overall enjoyable but I need me more Wesmie.

Very Enjoyable

I fell in love with Blake Riley in 'US' and was super excited when he got his own story. And what a wonderful story it was! His character is so funny, and loveable. I imagine a giant teddy bear of a sexy dude when I think of him, and I'm sure I'm not off base. And Jessica gives off a vibe that shouts 'why me, universe!'. Every girl who's desperate to be successful but tends to get in their own way can attest to how Jessica feels. This couple was so unlikely that it made the story perfect.
Teddy Hamilton brought Blake to life, and Tanya was the absolute best choice for Jessica. Very good story, awesome narrators. Positively recommended!

Made me laugh

Although this is not listed as a continuation of the Him/Us series it has the same characters from it so it was easy to get into. Blake is just a funny character and his story is pretty easy to follow. There are definitely a few of the laugh out loud moments through out the story.

NOTHING BUT ROMANCE

This was a great romance book with lots of humor poured in. No threesome or mystery drama in this book, just a super sweet, sexy, and funny hockey guy and gorgeous nursing student! All the characters were good. Those hockey players are always hot! the story was a fun listen. Narration was good. The voices so totally matched their characters. I'm sure that I'll listen to this one again some time in the future!

Jessica & Blakey Sitting In A Tree...

The unlikely couple, Jess Canning and Blake Riley bring a smile to my face. Hopefully they will not get penalized with Roughing too many times.

Thank you Sarina Bowen and Elle Kennedy for continuing the story started with the Him series. Narrators Teddy Hamilton and Tanya Eby are brilliant. They bring each of their characters to life.

Funny and cute

This book follows Blake Riley, the adorable if a little annoying hockey friend of Wes. I'm always happy to revisit beloved characters like Wes and Jamie from Him/Us. This follows Jamie's sister, Jess and tells the story of how they achieve their HEA. Well, Blake can get a little annoying because, well, he's kind of always joking. The story shows why he is the way he is and he's like one of those people that you roll your eyes lovingly at. Sarina Bowen did such a good job making him a character that I wish I was friends with in real life because I know I would laugh a lot. Jess was sweet (although she definitely needs an infusion of confidence) but I loved their interaction and banter. I had a great time reading this story and definitely found myself laughing out loud at many times.

It is whispersynced for so cheap and Teddy Hamilton was a narrator so it was a no brainer for me. And TH is amazing as always- he has the perfect voice and inflections for Blake's character but plays all the characters, including the female ones, so well. Tanya Eby was great too- fantastic pacing, great playing of multiple characters and they paired up so nicely. Their narration elevated the story. Loved it!
