About this listen

The brand-new domestic thriller from the #1 bestselling author of Obsession

A new couple moves in next door.
And nothing will ever be the same again…

I watched you move in next door and thought we might be friends.

I saw you watching from the window – and knew I’d have to keep you well away from my husband.

I started to trust you. Confide in you.

I started to mistrust you. Suspect you.

I was confused when I blacked out after an evening at your place. Was I really that drunk?

I came up with a plan. A plan to make you both pay . . .

Sexy and sinister – this book will keep you up all night . . .

‘The tension builds and builds and then… BAM! Dark, gripping, brutal. I loved every minute’ Jackie Kabler

As more-ish as a box of chocolates. I kept trying to put it down, but it was almost impossible. A wickedly twisty plot with a satisfying end’ Emma Curtis

‘Robson delivers shock after shock in her new page-turner which is filled with characters behaving badly. Dark and utterly twisted. What a ride!’ Sam Carrington

‘Another addictive, wonderfully descriptive and vibrant domestic thriller from the queen of the page-turner’ Caroline England

'A delicious tale of sinister rivalry that descends into darkness. An excellent page turner – loved it!' Elisabeth Carpenter

only one problem...

the problem: the male voice very annoying, other than that great story with several twists!

skip

weird, unsatisfactory story line involving only terrible people. it was like three books in one-all not good. I hate leaving reviews like this in case the author was to see them but I also hate spending money on audiobooks that aren’t worth it. Save yourself the credit

Hmmmm...

I didn’t want it to end, but wasn’t into it until halfway through. I had to rewind several times until I remembered everyone’s name and who they were with, and the short, choppy paragraphs were..... different. Several of the scenes were completely unrealistic and off the rails, but it was still a very creative, twisty plot with amazing performances.... I loved these narrators!

A great 'just one more chapter' read!

This book was indeed different. I felt as if I were watching a movie would I read, the crashes just playing out before my eyes. I was hooked from the very beginning, I love the way this author writes and I may have luck I'll another if get titles. There was so much going on on this book but I was able to keep up with it all. The book is told in second person from each character with past memories thrown in as well. Only, you aren't certain who's memories you are reading until later in the book. I thought I had if all figured out a couple times but was proven wrong each time. The only thing I didn't like about this book was the ending. It made no sense to me why the author chose to end it the way she did. There's no real closure. I expected an epilogue but found none. If your playing on reading this title just to pass time, don't. To read this title you need to block off some time because you'll keep wanting to know what happens next. The chapters are fairly short so, the whole 'just one more chapter' just continues until the book is finished. I will definitely be reading this again in the future.

I savored this British “psycho”logical thriller

I’ve discovered another brilliant author, Amanda Robson. She weaves a compelling twist with exceptional and precise flair; there is not a dull moment. Laura Costello and Matt Addis are exceptional narrators and bring these sinister and toxic characters to vivid life. Just when I thought the end of the book was near, fortunately for me, it was not. Subplots abound and I anxiously listened for more; I was not disappointed. Surprises, twisty-turns and jaw-dropping moments I never saw coming continued throughout. That ending, wow! Worth a cherished credit, however, I preferred to pay the $9+. I never use a credit on a book under $12 or so. Highly recommended! I so do enjoy my British audiobooks, and “My Darling” proves why. Thank you to author and narrators, as well as Audible for making this deliciously creepy and gripping book available. Epic, I say, EPIC!
NOTE: Listen intently as not to miss one moment of this complexellent and audictive book.

Hidden Gem!!!

NO SPOILERS! I listen to 100s of thrillers and many bore me to death, but not this one. I won’t give anything away, you really should just enjoy the ride. The narrators were fantastic. Matt Addis was perfect for the character of Allister. Both the narrators couldn’t have been more perfect for the voices of these characters.

I recommend this to anyone who loves domestic psychological thrillers! More people should know about this book!

Good story, but a hot mess I thought.

I enjoyed the story overall, but only after wading through and figuring out who's who and when constantly until a certain point when it became clearer what the heck was going on. I have listened to other books where it can be confusing where you are in the timeline etc, but thought this one was very bad for that. Why the heck don't authors say present and past or before and after or whatever in order to avoid confusing and annoying the reader. Some authors do actually do it right and I so prefer them.

Good but strangely written

I have mixed feelings about this book. At first, I was slightly put off by the writer's style. The chapters are super short (there's about 130 of them) and interspersed with "Memories." Eventually I got used to them. The plot is told through three POVs which doesn't bother me, except the female narrator does not do a real great job at differentiating the female voices so that I had to rewind a couple of times to know who was speaking (there are only 2 narrators, one male, one female). It's a good story, lots of twists, but the pace could have been faster. I did find myself gasping aloud a couple of times in surprise or repulsion, so that's good. All in all, I guess I'm glad I listened but it was not one of my favorite psychological thrillers.
