Publisher's summary

My Eyes Are Up Here is a razor-sharp debut about a teenage girl struggling to rediscover her sense of self in the year after her body decided to change all the rules.

If Greer Walsh could only live inside her head, life would be easier. She’d be able to focus on excelling at math or negotiating peace talks between her best friend and...everyone else. She wouldn’t spend any time worrying about being the only Kennedy High student whose breasts are bigger than her head.

But you can’t play volleyball inside your head. Or go to the pool. Or have confusingly date-like encounters with the charming new boy. You need an actual body for all of those things. And Greer is entirely uncomfortable in hers.

Hilarious and heartbreakingly honest, My Eyes Are Up Here is a story of awkwardness and ferocity, of imaginary butterflies and rock-solid friends. It’s the story of a girl finding her way out of her oversized sweatshirt and back into the real world.

Enjoyed It A Lot

I really enjoyed this book, I get why people wouldn't like it because there wasn't much of a plot but I really related with Greer, because I was Greer at some point
the story is about Greer, a 15 years old girl who has a huge problem in her chest area ..that's why she can't fit in many clothes she wants, so tries to join the Volleyball team but she is too self conscious to concentrate, then she meets Jackson, who is the new boy in town, he is nice and approachable and seems interested in her, how Greer will overcome her insecurities ?

I liked that Greer was a normal girl with some problems .. we see her laugh, we see her sad, and we see her being a bad ass, and she felt so real to me and I actually teared up in multiple points in the book .. really enjoyable

The narrator was EXCELLENT !!, great choice she captured Greer voice perfectly

Amazing performance, eh to the rest.

I chose this book, aware the target audience is probably a lot younger than my 28. But it seemed like something high school me could relate to. I wouldn't say that I, the age I am now, enjoyed it, but I do think that 15 year old me would have loved this book. I think it's a great pick for anyone that may be struggling with self acceptance of any kind. The performance of this book was phenomenal. Each character had their own personality brought to life and could be easily distinguished, but not in a cringey, forced way. I probably wouldn't have even made it halfway through if it weren't for the amazing job the reader did. The performance really has proved to make or break for me when it comes to audio books and that alone made this one entertaining. I would recommend this book to someone between the age of 13 and 15 ideally.

I really enjoyed this book even though I may not be the exact target demo for it and the performance is fantastic!
