About this listen

Fox

I have seven weeks to meet and marry a human woman. If I don’t, I will lose my position as Commander of the Alliance Force. Since I took command, my attempts to meet eligible women have been disastrous. Lev, our resident anthropologist, has suggested I attend Oktoberfest in Munich. His rationale is that I like beer and the comradery of dancing and singing and will be surrounded by women who also enjoy the same activities. I always advise my officers to mingle with humans at their festivals. The better we understand humanity and are emotionally connected to the people of Earth, the better we can defend their planet. Perhaps taking my own advice will help me find a wife before it’s too late.

*Standalone*Two POV*HEA

The Alliance Holiday Series is set in the present day. However, aliens, especially the Alliance fleet, play an important role in humanity’s interactions in the galaxy (even if most humans are unaware). Enter this alien world and follow these human women to the Alliance Empire, a matriarchal society where women have always ruled, but Alliance men have always dominated their hearts. There are few heroes or women being rescued. Instead, readers are led through complex traditions of an alien culture: mazes of alien courting rituals, obedience to strict religious codes, and often uncomfortable compromises, all while chasing romance and marriage. Each book is standalone but can be traced back to something the women in House Human discovered about the Alliance’s relationship with Earth 600 years later in the Renascence Alliance Series. An overarching story is intertwined throughout the series, but it is not necessary to read the books chronologically to enjoy the romance of each individual book.

Fox and Helga

This is a standalone in the Alliance Holiday series. This time it is Commander Fox of the Alliance Force and Helga who is helping out a friend as a beermaid. They meet at Oktoberfest in Munich. This has been a series I have enjoyed from the first book, another engaging story. It is written in a 2 POV making you see what each of them feels. I enjoyed listening to Jill Smith and Jack Calihan narrate their story.

Steins Full Of Starry Eyed Loved

Gleeful Goblin Review: Such a fun story! A burnt out and heartsick human rights lawyer is feeling disenchanted with the Justice part of the criminal justice system after losing another case. Feeling like she isn't making a positive difference in an impersonal and often cruel system she decides to take a break from her normal life and job and spend some time with her friend in a different city. That friend happens to have an in for our FMC to become a server at Oktoberfest! Our super responsible and serious MMC is under a ton of pressure from his higher ups to find a wife or lose basically everything. One of his friends gives the excellent suggestion that Oktoberfest might be a perfect place to meet his future wife (for reasons I can't spoil) and then things really take off! Tons of fun to listen to and a great addition to the series. 5/5 Stars.

Great story and Audio!

The perfect duo of Jill Smith and Jack Calihan narrate the audio edition of My Oktoberfest Alien with perfection.
This is the sixth book in author Alma Nilsson’s Alliance Holiday themed series, and having enjoyed them all found this audio version just as engaging and captivating.
Having read and reviewed the E-book it was an additional pleasure listening to the audio version.
Nothing has been lost in this rendition with each chapter moving seamlessly from one to the next and I enjoyed the in depth world building and characters as brought to life by the narrator’s who of course had the author’s wonderful writing to work with in another exciting Human/Alliance love match.

Fox and Helga

Story: Commander Fox (H) of the Alliance Force is on a mission to protect Earth from galactic dangers while adhering to Alliance traditions, which require him to marry a human. His search leads him to Munich during Oktoberfest, where he meets Helga (h), a burned-out human rights lawyer who is temporarily working as a beermaid. Despite her initial skepticism, Helga is drawn to Fox’s honesty and unwavering interest in her. Fox finds himself drawn to Helga’s intelligence and strength, and knows he’s found his match, even if convincing her proves to be a challenge. Their connection deepens through a series of interactions, but their growing bond faces significant challenges. When Helga is abducted by human traffickers seeking revenge against Fox, he's forced to risk everything and mount a daring rescue, solidifying their relationship and introducing Helga to the complexities of Alliance culture. The pair’s union is tested as they confront the deeply ingrained traditions and expectations of Fox’s world, including public rituals, political opposition, and accusations of witchcraft against Helga. Helga proves her resilience and adaptability, overcoming physical and emotional trials to establish herself as Fox’s equal and as the Consort to the Commander, navigates political intrigue, life-threatening conflicts, and cultural misunderstandings. Fox, in turn, evolves from a duty-bound soldier into a devoted partner, learning to balance his responsibilities to the Alliance with his commitment to Helga. Hot and steamy alien-human romance, exploring love, connection, resilience, challenges, cultural differences, societal expectations, intrigue, doubts, and the strength of true partnership.

Audio: The narrators did a really great job with this story. The audiobook uses a male narrator and a female narrator – I always appreciate when an author goes for the additional costs of having two narrators so that listeners can hear male dialogue with a male voice and female dialogue with a female voice. Jack Calihan does a great job with the tone he brings to Fox and the other male voices, and Jill Smith gave Helga a voice that seemed to embody her, as well as other female voices. The audio quality is good and there were no issues.

I enjoyed this new "Alliance Holiday" story set in Munich during Oktoberfest. It is an alien romance about Fox and Helga. The author created an interesting and intriguing science fiction story with an interesting spin. I thought the narration was really good and brought the characters and their story to life. This is so good.

I loved this story. Helga and Fox's story is so good. I loved the plot. Fox needs to find a wife to keep being a commander. Helga left the corporate world for her mental health as well as get away from her stalker ex boyfriend that is also abusive.

Story Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (5/5)
Narration Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (5/5)
Spice Rating: 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ (4/5)

This audiobook is like Oktoberfest itself: lively, warm, and a little intoxicating. Cheers to a great listen! 🍻

First off, this book is such a fun, unique mix of sci-fi, romance, and holiday festivity! Alma Nilsson has created a quirky yet heartfelt story where intergalactic love meets the beer-soaked traditions of Munich’s Oktoberfest. Helga, a burnt-out human rights lawyer, and Fox, an alien commander under pressure to marry, are the stars of this hilarious, steamy, and emotionally gripping tale. The cherry on top? Jill Smith and Jack Calihan’s engaging dual narration, which brought the characters to life with such depth and charm.

Summary

Commander Fox is a no-nonsense alien tasked with protecting Earth, but his job is on the line unless he finds a human wife—fast. Enter Helga, who’s ditched her high-stress law career for a mental health reset, working as a beermaid at Oktoberfest. Sparks fly between these two mismatched souls, but their romance is far from smooth sailing. Between cultural misunderstandings, an ex-boyfriend-turned-stalker, human traffickers, and alien traditions that test their limits, Helga and Fox fight for love in a way that keeps you rooting for them till the very end.

Jill Smith and Jack Calihan are AMAZING! Their dual narration felt like eavesdropping on the actual characters, with Jill’s voice capturing Helga’s mix of sass and vulnerability, and Jack giving Fox the commanding presence and occasional cluelessness that make him so endearing. The transitions between POVs were seamless, and both narrators added so much personality to secondary characters. Having two narrators was a fantastic choice—it really elevated the audiobook.

One of my favourite moments in this book is the scene where Fox awkwardly tries to flirt with Helga while clearly having no clue about Earth dating customs. It’s hilarious and so relatable. Also Lev coaching Fox on how to “court” a human woman will have you laughing!

Would I recommend this book?

Absolutely! It’s perfect for fans of steamy alien romances with heart, humor, and action. Alma Nilsson delivers a story that balances romance, sci-fi, and real-life challenges in a way that feels both escapist and deeply emotional.
