About this listen

The past isn’t buried. It’s evolving.

When Lux Branson is invited to a top-secret archaeological site in Eastern Europe, she expects ancient bones—not living, breathing relics of prehistory. A startling discovery has been made deep in an underground cave system: signs that Neanderthals may not be extinct after all.

But these aren’t the primitive people history remembers. They’re stronger. Smarter. And they’ve survived in isolation for thousands of years.

As Lux and her team navigate the maze-like tunnels, they find themselves caught between scientific curiosity and a growing danger. Because something down there is watching. And it doesn’t want to be discovered.

In a race against time, betrayal, and biology, Lux must decide what lines she's willing to cross to protect a secret that could rewrite human history—or end it.

I kept waiting for the Neanderthals to play some important part. False lead. Couple dozen men, two women, one gay one bi, A bullet proof sea serpent and some kind of dinosaur, yet most of the killing was th humn. Ridiculous dialogue about how muscular and beautiful the girls were and hardly a word about the creatures living in a cave under the old K Mart.

Total waste of time.

The character development was poor, and the interesting parts were glossed over. I would love more development of the Neanderthal and “holler people” aspects. I didn’t care about the attraction the narrator had for the heroine, but lots of time was spent on that.

I almost didn’t make it through
