About this listen

Now a National Best Seller

The return of the cutting-edge thriller series Net Force, created by Tom Clancy and Steve Pieczenik and written by Jerome Preisler.

The number-one threat to our nation’s security is in cyberspace. The new US president wants to tackle the urgent problem head-on and launches a top secret line of defense: Net Force. But before the organization can be announced, the country is hit by an unprecedented, two-pronged terror attack.

Not yet empowered by Congress nor embraced by a dubious intelligence community, still untested, unproven and officially unnamed, Net Force’s elite group of cyber experts and field operatives must lead the fight against the ongoing waves of hacks while tracking down the mastermind. Their failure could mean global catastrophe. Success may lead them to become the highest-level security agency in the United States.

A story that seems ripped from tomorrow’s headlines, Net Force: Dark Web relaunches one of the most prescient thriller series at a time when cybersecurity is more vital than ever.

Wow! So awesome, I'm hooked.

The story leaves a lot of plot threads unresolved; it may be intentional but it seems incomplete. At least 3 story elements are left unresolved.

Incomplete plot..

This is only my opinion....
I rarely decide to not finish listening to a book. But this one is an exception.
For "Me" it just didn't keep my attention. Felt like it jumped around.
Not sure if it was that I'm too busy to focus. Or maybe the the story line jumped around, or the narrator.

I may go check it out and actually try reading it. Might be good.

Just couldn't finish listening .

I enjoyed the book or at least the story line.
However....as someone who has read every book in the series, the astounding lack of understanding of previous painstaking character development almost ruined it for me. A newcomer would not care for example that Col. Howard had long ago been promoted to general and retired. Much time had been dedicated to his personality and beliefs, and all were ignored in this latest book. Same for Sgt. Hernandez having been promoted to Lt. and then Capt. his personal characteristics are not at all as previously established. Same goes for Alex Michaels. No wife ?!(Toni) no son (Alex Jr)?! Why bother even using the names if not to draw on what had been so carefully developed.
So sad and frustrating.

They should have read the series?!

Good listen, but it took me a bit to follow for a few chapters. Cheers.

A little tough to follow

Story line was as expected. Performer needs to improve on distinguishing different characters using various tones, accents and pacing. Work on those female voices!

Good Audiobook for this genre

I read this yers ago and loved it so I thought I'd give it a listen. My problem is the performer speaks to quickly, it's hard to follow the story.

Hard to follow,

Poorly read in a monotone of perpetual urgency that made it difficult to discern one character from another or to even distinguish one scene from another. Also the written story ends abruptly and unresolved as through the writers ran out of time and paper. Give me Scott Brick any day.
