Publisher's summary

Flat on my back is not how I imagined meeting my new boss and hot-as-sin rock star. But here I am . . .If I didn’t already have amnesia, I’d be wishing for it now.

In my defense, Laird Faris was only wearing a shameless smirk and a towel wrapped around his chiseled abs when we met.

Brooding.

Devastatingly handsome.

Utterly intolerable.

Naturally, I’m instantly attracted to him.

It’s not only his broad shoulders and gorgeous face that wreck my equilibrium, but also a distinct tattoo on his chest that matches one on my hip.

Our chemistry is off the charts.

Searing kisses make his grumpiness bearable.

Every touch we share is full of fire and flashes of memories, making me wonder if our connection isn’t destiny after all.

But do the secrets he hides behind his icy blue eyes have something to do with the weekend I can’t remember and the past he can’t forget?

New York Times and USA Today bestselling author S.L. Scott will have you swooning with this enemies to lovers, second chance, contemporary romance. This charming, steamy, and emotional story features a rock star hero who falls first for a resilient, witty, and headstrong heroine.

Love the continuation

If you like a book that is part of a fantastic series this is for you. I love how it can stand on its own but has characters from other books in the series. Can’t wait for the next one!

Such a great book!!!

Well, I totally loved this book. The narrators brought this book to life. Jacob Morgan is just...delicious. He is the reason I chose to read/listen to this book. I was not dissapointed.
The story itself was just so,so good, and the banter between the characters is hilarious.
This was such a wonderful pallete cleanser for me.
I literally read it in one sitting. I did not finish until 4:30am ,but it was totally worth it.

in love with this book

I love everything about this book the whole story . I love the narrators voice and most of all I loved the ending . This writer is amazing she makes you feel Like you are right there with the characters. like you're sharing the journey together. The only problem I have with it is that there isn't a book 2 .

An "unforgettable" rockstar romance!

I loved everything about this book!

I loved the characters, the dilemma from the beginning, and their "re-meet cute" (loved that part a lot!!!)

My 1st thought when this book came out was, "YAY!!! Poppy got her own book!!!" But also was super excited To get Laird Faris's story as well! I love the little Easter eggs dropped throughout and The bringing up of characters from author SL Scott's other books that she's written.

You definitely don't have to read Any of the previous books as this can be read as a stand-alone However it is great to be able to see The characters from other books and series as you read it... And it is definitely not a hardship to read the other books before this one. LOL

Author SL Scott did an amazing job writing this book! She Wrote the story so well and it flowed so wonderfully. I love the little aha moments that were throughout the story. It was one of those reads where you were like,"Oh wow that was perfect!" Laird figuring things out and thinking he figured things out was great!

I can say that I did not care for poppy's mother one bit! I seriously wanted to punch her in the face!!!! But I love Laird's family...so that kinda kept me from throwing my reader. 😂

This is a Rockstar, second-third chance, romance that can be read as a standalone.
I seriously loved this!!!!

Jacob Morgan and Summer Morton were music to the ears! I really liked their narration of this incredible book!!!

Such a cute story

I laughed and cried. This was such a cute story, I loved it so much, the prologue immediately got me hooked on this story. Zachary Webber does it again, he makes you feel everything with an incredible performance.

So refreshingly great! I enjoyed everything about this one! ❤️

This was such a good book. It was sweet, refreshing, and very emotional. It was so well written, too, with lots of good dialogue and a captivating story that moved along at a perfect pace. One of the most difficult things about angst and conflict is knowing how and when to bring it to a close with a good resolution. S. L. Scott mastered it with this emotional love story, complete with the greatest lead characters and a perfect storyline. I loved every minute! It was a great length, too—no filler or fluff, and I didn’t feel like I needed more at the end. It was long enough for me to really get into it and get “familiar” and cozy with the characters without feeling like there was needless drama, or feeling like it dragged on. The conflict resolution was perfect, and very well timed. There was no unnecessary or overly drawn out misunderstandings and/or miscommunications as is often the romance trend, no petulant arguments or frustrating “3rd act break ups.” This was all around a phenomenal experience! I reserve 5 star ratings for stories like this one. So refreshing. The narrators were also superb. I’m such a harsh critic, of both authors and narrators. I have high expectations (I’m extra—I can’t help it.) I think this was my first time listening to Summer Morton, and I was so excited to have discovered another female narrator I enjoyed so much because they are so rare. I find anything the least bit unnatural, and everything from cadence to accent, tone, inflection, and speech pattern sometimes unbearably distracting. Morton was perfect! And as far as Jacob Morgan, he is my absolute favorite male narrator—my romance narrator crush ❤️. Everything about his performances, from his voice to the characteristics and personalities his creativity and talent bring to life give me the warm fuzzies. He could read a phone book (yeah, I’m that old), and I would probably swoon. Excellent all around! 👏

Second Chance With Rockstar

Poppy is at a rock concert with her best friend. The second she spots the guitarist she is instantly drawn in. Her and the lead guitarist, Laird, meet up back stage and hit it off. They go and get matching tattoos, bond on a level neither one has done with anyone and spend a night of passion. That night was one night both her Laird was supposed to never forget. Laird asks Poppy to go on tour with him, after thinking about it Poppy says ‘yes!’ and she will go pack her bags. That morning Laird is waiting for Poppy to show up at the diner to go with him on tour, but she never shows up.

2 years later and Laird’s band tells him he needs to find himself and write again, he’s been so lost since Poppy never showed. He is sent to his families cabin to reboot himself. Once he’s up there he feels free, until he walks in on someone cooking in his kitchen. The second he sees her face, he’s shocked and mad at the same time! Seeing Poppy in his kitchen, he wants answers but she acts like she’s never met him before. He tells her to leave and she does. Poppy is so confused as to why this gorgeous man went off on her, especially since she’s never met him.

Somehow down the road, Poppy’s car breaks down and Laird picks her up on his way to get dinner. They end up back at the cabin and talk. He apologizes for his anger before and once they start talking he finds out she was in an accident and has amnesia. He reads that the amnesia person has to have the memories come back to them vs being told their past. This breaks him because he fell in love with Poppy that special night 2 weeks ago and all he wants to do is hold her. He decides he will have to have her fall in love with him again.
