Publisher's summary

No Longer Safe: Booktrack Edition is enhanced with a musical soundtrack from Booktrack for an immersive listening experience!*

For fans of Paula Hawkins, Ruth Ware, and Lisa Scottoline comes a new thriller from best-selling author of Girl on a Train, Dark Place to Hide, and The Evil Beneath.

She was your best friend. Now she’s your deadliest enemy - and there’s nowhere to run....

When Alice receives an invitation from Karen, her charismatic university friend, to stay in a remote cottage in Scotland, she can’t wait to rekindle their lost friendship. But two more former students arrive - never friends of Alice’s - and as the atmosphere chills, Karen isn’t the warm-hearted soulmate Alice remembers. Barely is the reunion underway before someone is dead and the fragile gathering is pushed to the breaking point.

As the snow cuts them off from civilization and accusations fly, Alice finds herself a pawn, sinking deeper into a deadly game she can’t escape. No Longer Safe is a chilling psychological thriller that delivers a delicious sting in the tail.

*Booktrack is an immersive format that pairs traditional audiobook narration to complementary music. Gently playing in the background, the music never overpowers or distracts from the narration, so listeners can enjoy every minute. When you purchase this Booktrack edition, you receive the exact narration as the traditional audiobook available, with the addition of music throughout.

Very unusual plot. Refreshing change!

unique thriller! left me sad, however. I was caught up in the two main characters. the other 3, not so much.

Hate the background noise!

Background music & sound effects are distracting and annoying!
Story and performance are good in spite of the noise.

AWESOME

Unique plot line that was well thought out. Kept me hooked from beginning to end and it was very suspenseful. Some of the music was a little distracting and didn't quite fit with what was going on in some parts, but worked well in more intense parts of the story. Plus there were some cool sound effects like a crackling fire place and wind to emphasize the snowy cabin setting throughout. I've found a new favorite author. Loved the ending!

Background music is distracting.

I think I would have liked this book a lot better without the background sounds. Normally I am pretty tolerant and will listen to just about anything and I found this annoying. The book is good but not 4 stars. Maybe no music would have helped?
