About this listen

From New York Times and USA Today best-selling author Monica Murphy....

Designing wedding cakes is Maisey Henderson’s passion. She puts her heart and soul into every cake she makes, especially since she’s such a believer in true love. But then Tucker McCloud rolls back into town, reminding her that love is a complete joke. The pro football player is the hottest thing to come out of Cunningham Falls - and the boy who broke Maisey’s heart back in high school.

He claims he wants another chance. She says absolutely not. But Maisey’s refusal is the ultimate challenge to Tucker. Life is a game, and Tucker’s playing to win Maisey’s heart - forever.

Not much substance...

Nothing is happening in that book. Not much to say about it. The narrators were good and it made it tolerable.

Tucker and Maisey

Letting go of the past isn’t always easy. This was a heartfelt, sweet, and heartwarming journey to go in with Tucker and Maisey. I enjoyed this story.
Teddy Hamilton is my all time favorite, he is always fantastic. Savannah Peachwood is another favorite, she certainly knows how to become the character.

Old Flames, New Beginnings

Maisey is Brooke’s little sister we met Brooke in Tempting Brooke’s book.
Maisey’s old flame comes back to town and they kindle a relationship. It’s a sweet story and fits with the Big Sky books.

I really don’t have anything profound to say.

I enjoyed the narration a lot Teddy and Savannah just work well together.

It was short but still sweet

I liked the book. I just felt it was too short. I like the longer books you get more info and drama lol. However, I still like the book. It was sweet & cute.

Short

Story was good, but way to short. Would have liked to have more details once they decided to try again.

A short, sweet second chance romance

I have been excited to get Maisey’s story since Tempting Brooke. She is Brooke’s sister and owner to cake shop next to her flower shop. Maisey has a fierce, strong independent personality. It is clear from the moment she spots Tucker back in town she has some serious unresolved feelings towards him and their past. Tucker, a NFL star is back in Cunningham Falls 10 years after he left, breaking Maisey’s heart by leaving her and ending their teenage relationship. He has some serious making up to do to get back in her good graces. The chemistry and heat between these two was incredible. I couldn’t get enough. Monica Murphy has written a beautiful second chance love story and devoured it in one sitting. I cannot wait to read more by this author in the future. This is a super short novella and the only flaw is how quickly in ended. Would have loved a bit more of these characters.

Savannah Peachwood and Teddy Hamilton are talented narrators and perfectly cast for this short story.

Ridiculous waste of time

Not sure which of the main character I liked less. The pompous full of himself man who ditched the love of his life or the spineless woman who took him back. Neither has any redeeming qualities. Save your ears and time.

Bad

I felt like the heroine gave in too easy and too soon. The guy broke her heart and when they met years later he acted as if nothing had happened. He broke up with her when he finished high school, and went to college where he slept around, while the girl stayed in town and built her cake shop.
And, while they were apart, the guy didn't even think about her, but at some point in book he says that he was always in love with her.
He never even apologized or did anything to get her forgiveness. He just shows up, they hook up, and suddenly they're madly in love.
Both narrators were really good.
I would not recommend this to anyone.
