About this listen
A personal message to one who suspects she or he has or is suspected by others of having OCPD:
Dear listener and newfound friend, congratulations! By your willingness and open-mindedness to explore, reflect upon, and consider the validity of the vital message of this book and its possible direct application to you, you have demonstrated personal courage of a very high order.
In all likelihood you heard about this book through a loved one or dear friend who has your best interests at heart and desires above all else that you lead a rich, rewarding, joyful, and fulfilling life. But to do so it is imperative that you acquire accurate, state-of-the-art, scientific (psychologically sound) knowledge of the condition they feel justified in believing you have.
To that end this book presents a proven program for psychological wellness directed to those individuals who suffer from this mental disability called obsessive compulsive personality disorder, or simply OCPD. It is a serious mental illness that wreaks havoc and creates ongoing misery in the lives of those people on the receiving end of the OCPD person's dysfunctional speech and behaviors. It also causes untold harm and damage to the OCPD person himself (or herself, as the case may be).
That is why this audiobook was created: to help awaken the OCPD person to the destructiveness of his or her behaviors to others and to facilitate the emergence of insight. Without it no OCPD person will ever recover. Though you may strongly feel this disorder has nothing to do with you, do yourself the favor of listening to this book.

People can have both; however, OCPD is a pervasive condition that affects the person's entire life and all interactions. A person with OCPD may justify their rigidity and inflexibility using the morals and values their family instilled in them.

Story
One of the main causes of OCPD or negative perfectionism is an internal lack of self-confidence. A child with OCPD parents was often told exactly what to do and what not to do. There was never any room for the child to make a mistake and learn from it, nor was there any room to test out new skills or try new things in a no-pressure situation. Due to this, you were not often given the ability to do things that would build up your own self-confidence.

Excellent Mind/Brain Training Manual for OCPDers
Although I do not struggle with OCPD, I know someone who does. This book enabled me to better understand the strengths and weaknesses of those who see the world through OCPD-lenses. I was BLESSED with confessions and mind training techniques to assist me as a recovering worrier, arguer, and perfectionist. I am so excited to read and listen to Mr. Ethridge's other books. This book was highly enlightening! Enjoy!

Great abridged version! Ideal softback complement!
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I highly recommend this audio book version of OCPD's Only Hope of Psychological Wellness for several reasons: (1) the narrator's voice is utterly clear, inviting, relaxing, and easy to listen to, (2) the narrator is a firm believer in the book's Message (this is WHY he took on my request to record my book, (3) he conveys this conviction so clearly through his tone of voice, the rhythm and cadence of his speech, and how he accents and emphasizes different ideas and concepts to the listener's greatest advantage, and (4) the narrator's rendition of my work completely complements my softback version and serves to reinforce and enhance 'Only Hope's' vital Message. To derive optimal benefit from either the softback book, or the audiobook version, utilizing both, at the same time, cannot help but maximize the effectiveness of the other. The two work in perfect tandem to achieve the quickest possible positive outcome in overcoming OCPD. A Win-Win situation at its best! PS: The narrator, Steve Carlson, is simply one of the best! Thanks, Steve, for your dedication, here!
Who was your favorite character and why?
The favorite character, of course, is the LISTENER to this audio book! As he or she is the primary, and praiseworthy, subject under discussion!
Which character – as performed by Steve Carlson – was your favorite?
Again, the LISTERNER is the central and favorite character of this book as it is ALL about him (or her)!
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
No longer an OCPD sufferer! I have achieved Victory over the OCPD world!
Any additional comments?
The audio book version of OCPD's Only Hope of Psychological Wellness can only help to liberate the OCPD person more and more with every listening. Such was it designed to do, and WILL do, as repetition of these life-changing ideas 'drives them home' to one's innermost being, and it is this 'internalization' that will greatly help to open the door to freedom from OCPD!
