J. D. Robb
Lieutenant Eve Dallas walks the thin line between love and hate in this fabulous 40th thriller from #1 New York Times bestseller J. D. Robb....
Eve Dallas has solved a lot of high-profile murders for the NYPSD and gotten a lot of media. She - and her billionaire husband - are getting accustomed to being objects of attention, of gossip, of speculation.
But now Eve has become the object of one person's obsession. Someone who finds her extraordinary, and thinks about her every hour of every day. Who believes the two of them have a special relationship. Who would kill for her - again and again....
With a murderer reading meanings into her every move, handling this case will be a delicate - and dangerous - psychological dance. And Eve knows that underneath the worship and admiration, a terrible threat lies in wait. Because the beautiful lieutenant is not at all grateful for these bloody offerings from her "true and loyal friend." And in time, idols always fall....

Would you listen to Obsession in Death again? Why?
Probably just because I like the narrator and I like Eve and Roark. But, the story of this one seemed off to me. The killer talked more than usual to self and I didn't like the way the killer acted. I still like the series but this one just hit me wrong.Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?
Yes. I didn't figure out who the killer was but as the story progressed, it just kept unraveling until I began to not care since I was sure Eve would figure it out. It didn't have as much mystery as earlier books. Still good but everyone seemed harder.Which scene was your favorite?
When Eve came home and punched out the new droid. It's always fun to hear the exchange between Eve and Roark....no matter what they are doing. Take care of my cop is one of my favorite lines.Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Only reaction I had was that I wasn't sure I liked it. Hard to explain why it hit me that way. This One Was Different--Still Good But Not As Good

This is my first experience with a first read on audible. I have listened to others but only after reading it for the first time myself.
I have to say, at first I just wanted to pick up a book and reread parts I may have missed but the good thing about listening to audible is the 30 second rewind so it really worked for me.
Susan Ericksen really does a wonderful job with the characters and by the end I was fully immersed in the future world of Eve and Rourke.
Terrific Story and Terrific Performance.
Another Great Eve Dallas Story
