I've been waiting for this ever since I met Daisy in Demigods of San Francisco. Her character is so wonderfully kick butt and this book fits her to the T! I can't wait for her next book!

This had me hooked from the beginning. I love K.F. Breene’s stellar writing. I’m new to this narrator but it was on point. I had a wonderful time listening and was definitely sad when it ended. I’ll be waiting with bated breath for book 2 of this series.

Daisy is not 14

Loved seeing the gang back together, albeit not for that long. I loved the Demigods of San Francisco series and this is an off-shoot involving Lexi’s ward, Daisy. It briefly touches on Daisy’s past but for more background I highly recommend listening to the whole series. You can certainly start with this one though with no problem. Anyway. Daisy is kidnapped by a gorgeous fae she met years ago and takes her to Faerie which means they have to battle many creatures and obstacles along the way. There is an unusual attraction growing between the two of them and there are several fairly sensual scenes. In the end it’s revealed how and why they got together and they are now on their way to the faery kingdom of Obsidian to try and save both the Earth realm and the Faery realm. Loved the book and now can’t wait for Book II. Highly recommend.

This is one of those crazy times where I think the summary of this book did not do it justice. I am a HUGE fan of Ms. Breene, and basically she is an auto-buy for me REGARDLESS of genre or subject. I remember reading the summary and thinking, "hmmmm, not really feeling this, but willing to just go for it anyway" Boy am I glad I did.

This series is a spinoff of the Demigods of San Francisco series (which I somehow did not know before diving into this) with Daisy as the FMC. The important fact is that she has grown up a bit since that series ended. First of all, Daisy is an awesome character in the original series and she only gets even better in this book. Secondly, her snarkiness and all around bad a**ery is well deserved - having had to live in a supernatural world as the only "mortal" in her group. Zorn has taught her well.

I will admit to being torn. Confused even. Why, you ask? Well, because I went from truly hating the MMC to thinking, "well, maybe he has reasons" to then thinking, "oh my goodness, what an absolute jerk" then to finally thinking...."I just don't know what to think."

Talk about pin balling emotions.....

Regardless, excellent start to the series and as usual, it ends in a cliffhanger that makes you want to punch a wall. But, let's just say that the stage is set and t looks like it is going to be a heck of a ride....

I love Obsidian! I couldn't put it down. Daisy is a badass. She just gets better and better. She's so cool! Tarian is sexy af and I kinda want to boot him. 😆 They're actually perfect together.
I love the twists that I never see coming in this author's stories. It was fun to get to peek in on the Demigods and their crew. Daisy and Mordie crack me up.
I love that Queen Breene's ebooks and audiobooks get released at the same time. No one else makes sure that happens and it's nice. I appreciate it.
K.F. Breene is so clever and amazing! I couldn't love the Demigods of San Francisco series more, but she struck gold again with Shadowbound Fae. It's so epically good! I can't wait for the next book.
The audiobook is fun. Khristine Hvam's voice acting is top notch. 👌🏻
