About this listen

In a corporate-controlled future where the ruling conglomerates genetically engineer their employees, Millicent Foster is the best of the best.

Physically perfect and exceptionally intelligent, Millicent is granted the uncommon privilege of breeding. But her daughter inherits more than superior genetics...little Marie has a rare ability that the world has never seen, and her conglomerate, Moxidone, will stop at nothing to have sole possession of the child.

Teamed with Ryker, the formidable master of security, Millicent must risk everything in a life-and-death struggle to tear her daughter away from the ruling force who wants to own them all. The odds are stacked against them, but Moxidone will learn that the pursuit of perfection comes at a perilous cost - and that love can't be bought at any price.

Mouth Clicks

I could not tune out all of Ms. Dawe’s mouth clicks. There can be more than 1 cause for the sound. 1) Narrator had an extremely dry mouth during recording. 2) Narrator over-hydrated just before recording. ( yes I realize the contradiction between #1 & 2. Look it up. It can caused by either).
3). Narrator was standing too close to her microphone. 4). Whoever was hired to do the post-production compression did not edit out the wet mouth click sounds afterwards.
Or a combination of all of them. Some people can easily tune this sound out. I am not one of them. It is a huge factor in whether I will listen to a particular narrator. Right now I’m hoping that I’ll be able to listen in my car if I fiddle with my speakers’s equalizer settings. I tried just turning my phone volume almost all the way down but I could still hear it. I’ve beenlisten to audible audiobooks for years now and love KF Breene’s books. Her audiobooks usually have a more professional finish to them. I hope I’ll be able to finish listening. Otherwise I’ll be using my kindle’s text-to-speech option to listen. Btw: if you go to a website called gravy for the brain and look up article: the secrets of preventing mouth clicks voiceover recordings, you will find good information on how to prevent this in the future.

😻

I listened to this a while back. Just realized I forgot to do a review. Was surpogood. I'm usually not into sci fi. Occasionally I find a good one I actually like. This is one of them. So far everything this author has written is beyond good. She picks really good voice narrators as well.

This book was perfection!

The narration captured the nuances of each character. The story was a mix of dry wit, technology and fast paced action. Throw in the enemies to friends twist for a touch of romance. This dystopian story was very entertaining.

A wonderfully unique story!!!

Be prepared to jump off a cliff of adrenaline and imagination unlike any you have experienced before! Fate of Perfection by K.F. Breene is a wonderfully unique story that takes us into a world that is technologically advanced and where assets are produced to create the best possible outcome, intelligence, strength and mental stability designed specifically for their assigned jobs and importance. The higher the skills the better their programed life is and the longer they are allowed to live it. Creation is a power play and nothing more. There is no family, no support, no living… just programs, jobs and surviving.

“Let’s push evolution along” – Trent McAllister and pretty much the moto the world now lives by

K.F. Breene introduces you to this new world with small tidbits of information and slowly brings you in so as not to overwhelm the reader. Just follow along and the holes will be filled! You will be glad you stuck around for the journey!

There are two types of creation, lab or natural but these are not births. They are simply creations, items. The world is run by conglomerates that fight each other for power and an assets job is to insure that their conglomerate stays in power. It is no sort of real life, just a program that each creation is a part of.

Until one such natural creation turns those involved into a new sort of unit; reminiscent of days long gone and unremembered. The adventure, changes and story that unfold will keep you on edge and in a constant state of mixed emotions ranging from anger, fear, and frustration to adrenaline rushes that end with death. As with all her books K.F. includes a lot of witty banter, laughs and sexual tension.

This story is a thrill ride that you will not only want to be a part of but need to be a part of! Trust me, just read the book already!!!

OK! I can admit it don't know my sci-fi from.....

My paranormal romance!

Cuz I loved this one. I did some skipping around and over. The tech stuff got a bit too much. But the action and romance was righton!
K.F.Breen does it again and again and ,well, you get it right?!

And the Margaret is spot on. Recognizing who is speaking became very easy and adds a whole mother level of excellence to the experience and
fun in reading, should say listening, to the book ,recording.

Forward and upward to DEVOTION. Wanna bet her sister falls for Trent! Well maybe not, but he's kinda cute, funny and loveable!!

Thanks!
Kaye E. good job! K.F.

Just wow! Trent McAllister was my favorite character. I laughed out loud. The narrator was amazing with texture and inflection to fit each emotion and situation. I thoroughly enjoyed this book.

Awesome glimpse of what might happen if we continue to take Earth for granted

I love most genres- but most recently have been on the fantasy rabbit hole… I love this author and thought I would give this a try (without reading about it or any reviews) I almost stopped because I haven’t found any future sci- fi that has captured my interest- but THIS was awesome!

Every time I thought the story was going to pivot down a specific path, it did not.

It has the typical root for the unknowing underdog- love story but the path getting there was a wonderful ride
