About this listen

Odin is a love story that chronicles the relationship between Katherine, a successful although self-centered executive, and the puppy she literally snatched from deaths icy grip. After being rescued by her in a dramatic fashion, Odin comes to see her safety and wellbeing as the central purpose of his existence. Although the line between the savior and the saved may become blurred at times, their unconditional love and affection for one another remain clear and unimpeachable, even in the face of certain death.

Emotional and Uplifting

Odin is a beautiful story by Riano D McFarland. I enjoyed that the narration was done over quiet soothing music with some sound effects; I thought that it enhances the story. Katherine saves Odin from a watery grave and a strong bond is made. The story is their life together. I thought that Jeff Fairchild narrated the story perfectly. I found Odin to be an emotional story and I cried during the last of the book. I think that Odin will touch your heart.

What an awesome story!

Let’s start by saying you will need Kleenex! I can never in my 67 years of life I cannot remember ever not having a dog. I have had them as pets, sporting companions in dog sports and even Search and Rescue dogs in man-trailing and human remains detection so I have experienced the bonds between dogs and their owners. Odin is an awesome story. Very well written and what I feel is true to life with a dog. The narrator does a wonderful job telling the story. I usually don’t care for sound effects but these were masterfully done and did not detract from the narration. Great job! If you are a dog lover you will absolutely love this book.

Good story

This was a wonderful story of how an animal can have such love and freely give it to his person. I would have rated it a 5 star book except for the inappropriate language. Seems to me there is enough vocabulary available without using such language. It's sad that I won't be able to share the book because of it.

Sweet story. Could have been longer

I love stories about animals. This was a good start with a thrown away pup rescued by someone that needs something but not a dog. The story, although a bit predictable, with all the important parts of a good dog story.

Heart tugging story

You can not help but love Odin,
There were a couple of chapter in the book that could have transitioned better, I can remember checking the screen to see if I missed a chapter, but soon the details connected. (This was the only reason I did not give the story 5 stars)

If your a cryer, be sure to have tissue nearby.

Beautiful Story

Beautifully told story about a woman who saves a puppy and their life adventures. Trigger warning: Do not listen to this book while driving. Sobbing will ensue.

I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review.

Unconditional Love and Devotion

This is a wonderfully uplifting book. This story makes us see our own dogs in Odin by incorporating little things that all dog parents will immediately recognize while telling a riveting story that reminds us why we love them so much. Odin is a remarkable love story in a number of different and touching ways. Tissues are mandatory, but perhaps not in the way you might think. It's very emotional, but those emotions are so warming and reassuring. Laugh, cry, express outrage, and rejoice along with Katherine and Odin as narrator Jeff Fairchild lays this emotional story by author Riano D. McFarland totally bare. If you love dogs, then this book should be considered essential reading.

Heroes Can Have Paws

Odin had me from chapter one and did not let me go until the end. The story is heart pounding, beautiful, uplifting and yet also heartbreaking. Odin's life didn't start off happy that was until he was rescued by his guardian angel in the form of an amazing woman by the name of Katherine. Katherine had no idea that chance meeting would change her life as well as his for life. She never knew how much his presence was needed to start her life on the right track and give her purpose.

Odin was the runt of the litter but he was strong, intelligent, faithful and loving but he could also be one fierce protector of those he loved and held dear. In my opinion these two were brought together for a purpose to share their lives with unconditional love that went both ways. They needed each other more than either truly knew. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and would highly recommend it. I received this book for free upon my request. I am voluntarily leaving my honest and unbiased review here of my own volition.
