About this listen

So you think you're afraid of the dark?

Twenty-two-year-old Beth Ann is content with her small-town life. That is, until the day America’s electric grid is destroyed by terrorists. What starts out as an inconvenience quickly becomes a catastrophe - not only do the lights stay off, but cars won’t run and phones are dead. The world screeches to a halt. Without communication and basic supplies like food and water, widespread confusion spirals into deadly chaos within days.

A wealthy opportunist saves the townspeople with his secret cache of food and easily takes over the desperate town. But the darkness that follows is even more devastating than the electrical outage. When Beth Ann finds herself on her own, she must do whatever it takes to survive.

Alone is a companion novel to the best-selling Equipping Modern Patriots Series, written in coordination with survival expert and preparedness consultant, Jonathan Hollerman.

A Woman's view/plight in societal collapse.

Definitely something to contemplate in these times of encouraged anarchy. what groups will be the most impacted?

Dove Tales nicely into the existing storyline

The book starts As a sequel From a Series That I am fond of but not in love with There are numerous Parts That are hard to believe There are numerous parts that are easy to believe and get caught up in So overall It is a good book Entertaining And fun I'm interest To see more of the characters and the development of the characters from the original EMP stories I do even be more interesting If some real modern day at fice Could be planted into it Such as The best size for a raised bed garden The best crops to plant in 1What kind of fertilizer To use And How to heat water Using the sun And gravity So the Book series is a flipping the modern patriot So far we get an Lehman's view appointment firearms And a novice's approach to bodyarmor To tactic And some psychological impact As well as The fact that the author does not hold human virtual very high regard That I don't either There is an awful lot that this shudder Can help teach And then it would be truly Equip in the modern patriot Kind of like Max brooks It's ambi survival guide Give

Good addition to the series.

I loved the characters and the portrayal of them. The emotions are real and felt deeply.

Decent overall

Decent but prepare for propaganda at the end. Pro gun propaganda wasn’t needed with a story about needing to protect yourself. But there it went, making me feel like my time was spent in politics instead of another life.

Survival story that tugged at my heartstrings for self-sustainability

Fast paced thrilling read! Words on a page brought to life by Jillian Yetter. Be prepared to wanna be prepared. The author is very passionate about educating his audience and lists some resources at the end for those who wanna know more. The story highlights traumatic experiences without going into too much detail but some readers may still find the content *triggering*

So Many Emotions

This story was written so well, and it had me feeling so many emotions. I went from shock to sadness and couldn't keep myself together. If you want an emotional story, then this is perfect for you. I promise you won't be disappointed. I found the way the narrator read this to match perfectly with the story, and her voice tone was great. Also, I felt that all of the trials, I would never wish any of them even on my worst enemy. I promise you won't be disappointed in this book, so you should buy it today.

A Good Read for Everyone

Although I have read fictional accounts of an EMP strike before, this was the first book in this particular series that I have actually encountered. I enjoyed it for both the storyline and for the practical information it gives throughout the story. The narration is very good, as the narrator gives distinct voices to the various characters, but not in a cheesy, over-the-too way. Everyone should read this to to be prepared for something that may soon be coming to a neighborhood near you.

Good read!

This is a great book for understanding what might happen if and EMP occurs and the grid goes down. At the same time it reads like a novel with an entertaining story!

Hard, but valid narrative; cheap narrator

Biggest complaint is the narrator/performance; sounds like it was recorded in a closet with a cheap dollar store earbud microphone...
