About this listen

In Off the Grid, Jane goes on what looks like a simple mission for the Knoxville blood-master - finding a missing Mithran. Her search leads Jane to a young woman named Nell, a woman with a scarred past and a strange power, a woman who may hold the key to saving the missing vampire, if Jane can convince her to assist.

I enjoyed the new character Nell. I can't wait until October for her book to come out.

Another great story from Faith Hunter.

Love, Nell

Oh how I’ve missed Jane! I really liked this story, and I loved meeting Nell. Tick tick people! Tick freaking tock!

This was a great little novella to tide me over, for now on my Jane fix. I loved seeing her in action and kicking some butt! Can’t wait to see what happens with Nell!

Butt kicking in progress!

Well written with excellent narration! The world of the backwoods cult is riveting. Nell Ingram is the type of person that generates the energy to inspire a series of books of her own!
Excellent time spent with this story!

Wonderful story!

A very satisfying short story. Bad guys clearly very bad and ended good guys mostly good and triumphant.

Feel good

Off the Grid was originally published in Black Water, a collection of Jane Yellowrock and it takes place between Blood Trade and Black Arts.

Jane is set to the Knoxville, TN area by NOLA Master suck head, Leo, to help solve the case of a missing vampire. Jane finds herself in the middle of a sicko religious cult that treats the women (and girls) has their “heavenly play things”.

While Jane is figuring out what the missing vampire has to do with the cult she runs into a young woman in the woods named Nell.

It doesn’t matter if the team of Faith Hunter and Khristine Hvam get together for a 16+ hour audio or for one that’s just 2 hours long like Off the Grid, they are going to grab you with Jane and entertain the hell out of you.

Off the Grid was a fun and action pack listen in the Jane Yellowrock universal and a nice way to introduce Nell Ingram the leading heroine in Hunter’s “Jane spin-off” series, Soulwood. The first book is titled, Blood of the Earth and it will be hitting the shelves in October 2015. And a little birdie told me that Khristine Hvam will be the narrator. So I’m super excited!

Lot of action in just 2 hours!

This was a good short story from the Jane Yellowrock series. Jane is sent to help a Master Vamp under Leo that is missing a vamp. The vamp was taken by the leader of a religious cult that uses religion as an excuse to abuse and sexualy molest their females. While trying to get info on the group, Jane meets up with Nell. Nell had a past with the cult but had escaped (even though she still lived under constant threat). Nell's not a witch but has some gifts. She's also a good woman and she and Jane sort of become friends so I'm hoping maybe their paths with intersect down the road.

Overall, this was a very enjoyable short story. :D

For lovers off Jane a wonderful introduction of an important new character. For everyone else a great taste of what the Jane Yellowrock Universe is all about. With a tasting of Jane, a gulp or two of new characters, a fine reminder of a younger Younger, and a whole lot of other fun.

Kristine Vham has brought the characters of Jane Yellowrock to life and made the story delicious. I can't get enough!! She gives each character a voice and personality, the story doesn't even need to identify who is speaking. Thank you Khristine for yet another amazing Jane Yellowrock story!!!!

Khristine Vham has done it again!! BRILLIANT!!!

I am a huge fan of both the Jane Yellowrock series and the Soulwood series and wondered where Nell was 1st introduced. Now I know. 😀

Loved it!

Ever read a story and catch yourself "improving" on the writing? I have never had that experience with Faith Hunter. Her plots, character development and turn of phrase are delightful. This story is no exception even if it is way too short.

As with all of the Jane Yellowrock stories, the narration is great. I've never had to cringe at the southern accent nor been stopped short by mispronunciation of a treasured concept. And Beast? She is purrfect.

Encore!!

As always
