About this listen

Football and winning are all that matter.

Finding love wasn't in my playbook - especially not with Sadie Benson.

All I ever wanted was to be the best. In high school and college, I was the top player on the field. As an offensive coordinator for the Nashville Fury, I'm on the fast track to becoming the youngest head coach in professional football history.

Until a feisty sports reporter with big brown eyes, a seductive smile, and the most irresistible curves I’ve ever seen shows up in the locker room.

Given my job, she’s completely off-limits - but I can’t stay away from her, no matter how hard I try. Not only is she gorgeous and sexy, but she lives and breathes the game just like I do, and she’s had to work damn hard to prove herself in this world.

If our relationship becomes public, it could ruin everything we’ve spent our professional lives working for.

Are we willing to risk our careers for love?

5 When Being A Secret is Worth All the Risks Stars

This is my first book by Chelle Sloan. Yes, I know, I’ve apparently been living under a rock! Not only did I LOVE this book, I loved it that much more because I was listening to the amazing Lia Holland and Michael Gallagher bring Sadie and Hunter to life. And let me tell you, these two were magic with these characters!!

I’m a huge football fan so this book and now this series is right up my alley. Not only am I a lover of football, but I studied journalism in college so I truly connected with Sadie and how important and sacred sources are to a story. But Sadie doesn’t just rely on sources, she knows the ins and outs of this sport and that just excited me so much more. Bring on Hunter as the new Offensive Coordinator and these two are ready to go toe to toe when it comes to what’s reported to the people of Nashville!

I could tell from the minute these two met in the sandwich shop that there was crazy chemistry between them… the question was, how long before they act on it? Each of them really are off limits because of their jobs and it could lead to disastrous results for both of them.

Ms. Sloan does a great job of building this story and their love. It’s slow and steady while dipping their toes in the water to test the boundaries. I lived for the moments they spent at Hunter’s place. He truly respected Sadie and what they were trying to build. I love that they made a promise to not ask questions about stuff they can’t get answers to; and if you can imagine all the kinds of things Sadie wants to know since she’s the local paper’s Nashville Fury reporter.

What I especially loved is how Hunter changed Sadie in small but subtle ways and seeing this side of her emerge brought a smile to my face. Not only do Sadie and Hunter start to form a rock solid friendship and love story, but there are changes for Sadie with her step-sister Bethany and they truly become the sisters they were always meant to be.

But it’s not all touchdowns with Hunter and Sadie and when things go off kilter, holy moly! Will they be able to get past these interceptions of their love story? Who will be apologizing to whom? Can love truly conquer all? I’m not giving anything away. What I can tell you is that I’ve just purchased the boxset for this series and will be diving into Bethany and Davis’s story next!

Great book!

This may have been my first Chelle Sloan book, but it most certainly won't be my last! I went into this book blind and I actually really liked it. It's not my usual kind of read.. Off the Record was a sweet, cute, loveable, swoon-worthy, hot read. I was hooked from the start!

Sadie and Hunter were perfect together. The back and forth, texts and the banter between the two of them were everything and so well written. It was incredible and it was so relatable. It made the story enjoyable to read. I wanted Sadie and Hunter to be together from the beginning. I could tell from the beginning they were meant for each other!

Sadie and Hunter

I loved this story. This is the first book of Chelle Sloans that I have had a chance to read/listen to. The characters are very relatable and the story flowed well. I cant wait to enjoy more from this series.

Sadie, a sports reporter and Hunter, the new offensive coach for the Nashville Fury football team, have to secretly date to avoid conflict of issues with both of their jobs. Sadie wants to prove herself as a good female reporter in a male dominated field to get her dream job and Hunter wants to break out of his fathers shadow and make a name for himself, so they cannot let their relationship become become public knowlage.

Both narrators did very well with this book I listened to the book all in one day.

I recieved an ALC and I am leaving this review volintarily.

Really, really enjoyed this!!

This is my first book by Chelle Sloan, and i absolutely loved it.

Sadie is a woman reporting on football, so she gets a lot of slack, but she scoops the story of one of the new coaches for the Nashville Fury. Except Hunter is so much more than she expected.

Their relationship is forbidden, but they decide to try in secret as long as neither shares info with the other about their job that shouldn't be shared. They have a plan to show everyone that they can do this.

Except best laid plans sometimes go wrong especially when Hunter is offered an opportunity of a lifetime and Sadie seems to find out before anyone else.

Loved this story so much and the audio book was so amazing to listen to. The narrators did an awesome job keeping the pace and story so invigorating!

I received a free audio copy of this book via the author and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Excellent performances

Off the Record is the first book I've read, or in this case listened to, by Chelle Sloan, but it definitely won't be my last. Sadie and Hunter were so easy to root for, even when I wanted to shake the daylights out of one or both of them. They both tended to self-sabotage - Sadie more so than Hunter, but both had their moments. That said, this couple's biggest problem was a lack of communication when even a heads-up could've prevented drama.
It was pretty easy to figure out where the angst would come from in this one, and while it would've been a nice surprise if I was wrong, that didn't keep me from enjoying the story and swooning a bit over Hunter. I love that he knows what he wants, and he isn't afraid to go after it.
I had the pleasure of listening to this one, and I do mean pleasure. Lia Holland and Michael Gallagher give excellent performances. They capture the emotion of the story so well, and I don't just mean the romantic emotion. Hunter has some family things to work through, and not only was that well written, but it was equally well narrated.
The whole book is well written, in my opinion. I enjoyed Chelle Sloan's writing style, and I don't think she could've chosen narrators any better. As I mentioned, this is my first book by this author, but after listening to this one, my TBR has grown by a few new additions.

Great football romance

4.5 stars. I really enjoyed this story. Yes- it is a forbidden romance, but unlike other books with this trope, I loved how Hunter and Sadie really build a relationship even though they are hiding it. The narration was also great.
