About this listen

Book two in the USA Today best-selling mystery series.

A university president with delusions of grandeur. A property developer with mob ties. A crooked politician fast-tracking projects for cash. Just another day in South Florida.

When Miami Jones is hired by an old college friend to investigate the drug overdose of a star student-athlete, he is thrust into the dark intersection of academia, politics, and the Miami drug world, where he finds himself fighting to not just solve the crime but to save those he loves most.

Series praise:

"...strong, unstereotyped, and engaging..." - Kirkus Reviews

"a well-balanced mix of intrigue, dry humor, and wit..." - Manhattan Book Review

"Robert B. Parker meets Carl Hiaasen." - Bookbub

"A five-star romp by one of the best mystery writers around." - Charles Ray Reviews

The second installment of the series. Most 2nd books fall short of the promise of the first. Not this one. Some plot twists I saw coming a mile away only to have them take an interesting bend at the end and not in the usual flash bang style. These twists were well laid out when you’re on the far side but not so clear in the moment. Worth the credits and the effort. Good, fun stuff. NEXT PLEASE!!!
