About this listen

Everyone is home for the holidays, clamoring for all the Christmas cheer only their mother can whip up. They can already smell the chestnuts roasting - or is that Mom’s hair on fire? From a New York Times bestselling author comes a laugh-out-loud short story for any mom who’d rather wreck the halls.

Tyler, Channing, and Sammy Clauster have descended on their childhood home, with significant others and four-year-old twins in tow, for another good old-fashioned Christmas. Overwhelming holiday magic, as always, comes courtesy of their mom, Claire. They know she’s thrilled to cook, wrap gifts, decorate, accommodate, play games, overprepare every Christmas Eve Eve Eve tradition, and still let Dad be known as the Fun One. It’s her thing, right? Maybe the family should have paid closer attention. Because this year, something is a little off-key - and it’s not just the carols.

Relatable

This is definitely relatable for mothers everywhere.

To have everything you do overlooked by your family, to be forgotten, ignored, and just taken advantage of is horrible. This wraps up so many woman’s feeling in one short story.

Mothers everywhere can identify

OMG! Spot on concept. My only disappointment was that the kids weren’t sufficiently humbled. There should be an Easter follow up story in which the TV host features the mom. I wanted to throttle the kid who nixed the pizza

a bit confusing

liked the premise of the story but I think it was too short to really explain what was happening.

Fun.

Fun presentation of a Christmas tale surrounding a quirky neurotic family through the hectic Christmas season. Great for a listen on the way to my own family home.

fun and twisty till the very end

I listen to audiobooks while driving and while I enjoy murder mysteries, every now and then it's fun to listen to everyday drama stories about families. I am a mom so this one definitely caught my eye when I read the synopsis. a mom who is tired and an incident ensues over Christmas break. very enjoyable to listen to, a great storyline, well performed, and a fun plot twist all the way up until the very end. highly recommend!

Oh what fun

This is how many of us moms feel this time of year. We also wonder if our families would even notice if we were gone.

What a fun book
