About this listen

An all-new enemies-to-lovers, sports romance from best-selling author L A Cotton

They say your first love leaves a mark.

For Calliope James it didn't only leave a mark, it tore out her heart and left it bleeding on the ground.

He was her best friend.
Her first kiss.
Her everything.

Until one day, he wasn't.

Zachary Messiah will never forget the girl with eyes the color of whiskey. But he's not that boy anymore.

Cold.
Cruel.
He's devoid of emotion.

Their paths were never supposed to cross again. But love doesn't always play by the rules.

Now he's the King of Steinbeck University and she's the new girl on campus...and the pasts they have fought so hard to bury are about to collide.

Only this time, they might not survive the fallout.

On the Rebound is a 100,000-word stand-alone romance. Content is suitable for listeners 17+.

Steinbeck U

On The Rebound Steinbeck U #1 is a new adult sports romance with a enemies to lovers second chance twist. I loved the characters and the plot was captivating. I loved the cute banter between the characters. I love how we get the history of the characters and the world this author has created and im looking forward to more books in this series. Their is heartbreaking moments and passionate ones too bringing everything together. Soaked with angst a intriguing read that keeps the pages turning.

Rachel Woods, Liam DiCosimo dual narration performance was fantastic. I loved both Rachel's and Liam'sintonation and brought out the characters and their story.

Absolutely loved it.

Wow!!!

This book has it all, love, heat, angst, sorrow, joy and recovery. This is my first listen by this author but I doubt will be the last.

The narrators did a good job of bringing the characters to life and differentiating between each of the male and female characters in voice intonations.

I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Fantastic Story & Listen🎧 Enthralling & Heartfelt!

I loved everything about this book, it is a fantastic enemies to lovers sports romance novel. The story is captivating from start to end, it is so absorbing that you forget all else that is going on around and it is hard to put down once you start because you need to know what happens next. The characters and storylines she created are realistic, easy to relate to and connect with. I adored the two lead characters, Calliope “Callie” James and Zachary “Zach” Messiah, they were really good friends during H.S. they really got each other and their relationship turned into more. But things changed, Zach changes, basically ghosted her Callie did not know why. Callie’s life has not been the easiest, she lost her mother and she is estranged from her father and her brother, a brother who is a star basketball player in the college she is attending. If that was not bad enough the last person she thought would be there is there, Zach, and he is also playing basketball, something he never wanted to be part of because he lived in the shadow of you brother. Zach comes off as a real jerk, driven by hate and anger he wreaked it and it was eating him alive. My heart went out to him after finding out why he switched to go to Steinbeck U. Callie friended a sister of one of Zach’s teammates, Joel, so she is traveling in the same circle as him. He is not happy and the angst and tension between them is explosive but so is the chemistry. A lot goes on in this book, the story is beautifully plotted with plenty of drama, both relationship and family on both sides, angst, heartfelt emotions and a smoking hot romance. L A Cotton, thank you for another fantastic story & emotional rollercoaster ride.

🎧📚🎧And for the fabulous narration, Rachel Woods and Liam DiCosimo are talented narrators and versatile voice artists. They bring these characters to life, humanizing them, giving each their own voice and personality. Their portrayal of each character was spot on, I loved how they took each role and made it their own sounding believable and just as I pictured them to sound. Liam DiCosimo played Zach’s role with perfection and Rachel Woods did the same for Callie. Both were great performing the roles of the secondary characters as well. They set the perfect tone for the story, captured all of the characters emotions and projected them into their performance. They are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another awesome listen🎧

I ended up loving these characters!

This is NOT what I expected! Its dark and broody and I REALLY hated Zach for a large portion of the book. I just didn't understand him or his reasons. Then there is Joel. Such a nice good looking normal guy...friendly...wholesome. Basically everything that Zach isnt. I learned about the bro code of the team and was surprised how everyone really took to it. That caused me to reverse my opinions of more than a few of these basketball players. After a while characters grew and changed some for the better others for the worse. I actually came to LIKE Zach by the end if the story and was impressed by him.

What an emotional, angsty gives-me-chills story. I was lifted up and sad more than once. These characters really come alive through the written words. This is a wonderful story that took me on a journey and made me love these characters.

Thank You for the epilogues! They helped round this all out nicely!

Great Read!!!

L A Cotton sure knows how to write a great sports romance. On the Rebound was a culmination of many tropes (sports romance, second chance romance, enemies to lovers) and packed a punch of angst.

Zach and Calli have history. They were childhood friends and first loves but the sweet boy Calli knew is gone and in his place is a cold and cruel stranger. The boy who hates basketball is now the basketball king on Steinbeck U.

This story is a must read. I was completely consumed by it and the connection between Zach and Calli!

Another slam dunk from L A Cotton!!

Good sports romance

This had angst, an angry ex-boyfriend, and lots of basketball. If you like college romances, this is an interesting read with a happy ending.
