About this listen

Miss Araminta pushes her shopping cart to the neighborhood market, but stops when she sees a well-dressed woman stealing from a blind man's cup.

The beggar is well known in the neighborhood; Bill and his seeing-eye dog sleep in a derelict shed behind the grocery store. He just turned up one day from nowhere, and is fed and clothed by the community.

Miss Araminta follows the woman robber, who waves a gun at her and steals her groceries.

This was a most unexpectedly enjoyable listen! Short but hitting the spot just right! Retired, Miss Araminta on her way to the grocery store witnesses the neighborhood homeless man, blind Bill and his seeing-eye dog being robbed by a well-dressed woman. After following the woman, Miss Araminta, herself is robbed of her groceries! Miffed for certain, Miss Araminta cannot let this injustice go. So even though the woman has a gun, Miss Araminta follows her. What happens next is absolutely amazing . . . best short story I’ve heard in a long, long while!!!
