No pdf

The content wasn't bad, but especially the audio version is severely lacking a pdf with the diagrams, some of which are even referenced throughout the recording.

Teaches the basic rules of chess, but half of them are impossible to follow.

The second half is applying the principles from chess to real life, which might be handy.

Excellent audio chess book!

Most chess books simply don't lend themselves to the audio format. Without an eidetic memory, there is very little benefit to hearing a string of algebraic chess moves. This book is different. The author and reader provide lots of good usable information that works in an audible format. There are discussions on strategy, tactics, and discussions on ways to work through problems, Yes, there are some algebraic discussions that would be much more helpful if the book had a PDF to download, but all in all it was worthwhile and enjoyable.

Helpful Despite the lack of diagrams

I thought this book was helpful. I am a beginner and many of the concepts here do not require visualizing a chessboard. And if you have a chessboard and this is the perfect beginners book.

Useless as an audiobook

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

It makes no sense to have an audiobook without the diagrams that are critical to understanding any of it. This purchase was a blunder!

No pdf

Requires much notation. Maybe 25%. So not so great for newbies. What a shame really.

Completely Useless, refers to pics tht arent there

There aren't any attached documents or photographs included with this audiobook, and it constantly says things like "set up the board like this" refering to a picture in the actual book. Large parts of this book are just cut out and completely worthless because there are no attached documents. Useless by chapter 5, waste of time. It's unfortunate because I enjoyed the content and i feel like the book, or just an audiobook with the correct attachments would've actually been good.
