About this listen

Carly Bell Hartwell's love potions are always in demand in Hitching Post, Alabama, the wedding capital of the South. When Katie Sue Perrywinkle walks into the Little Shop of Potions, Carly is surprised and delighted to see her old childhood friend. Katie Sue fled her hometown and a troubled family more than a decade ago. But she's not back for a social visit; she's come to settle a score with Senator Warren Calhoun, who is in town for his son's high-profile wedding. But before Katie Sue has a chance to voice any objections, she's forced to forever hold her peace.

After finding her friend dead, Carly vows to find her murderer. Were the corrupt Calhouns willing to go to any lengths to avoid a scandal? Did Katie Sue's family take the term "bad blood" to a whole new level? And why did the bride to be come to Carly for a love potion? As Carly gets closer to the truth, a killer is planning a very chilly reception...

enjoyed the mystery. I appreciate the way that Blake builds up the story and then gets to the mystery. it's a nice change from the opening murder plot.

Wow this book just drew me in and wouldn't let go! Love the southern narrator, the small town and the suspect the author kept me in.

I can’t say enough… I’m actually a little speechless. This was a perfect blend of mystery, romance, and humor. For once I didn’t get the culprit or the details right away. ….just so good!

Amazing!

I really enjoy listening to the narrator tell this story. Ms. Mercer-Meyer is able to do variety of characters but nothing is over done. The story was fun. I'm on to the next one in the series. I listen while I clean my house, run my errands, and drive my kids all over the place everyday. Audiobooks like this are my zen. 😎

Feel good- light mystery with magic

I enjoyed this book. It was a fun listen. I laughed out loud because obviously the narator enjoys what she does and she emphasises what need to be emphasised.

a fun book!

This was my first book by Heather Blake and it was really nice. An easy read that I could listen to for while needing to do other things. There were a lot of characters so at some points I got a little confused on who was where. The author though makes it easy to catch up.

I understand the need for the "southern accent" but gheee lawd this is a lot. And the term "care bear" is sickly sweet. Store is good just tone down the southern speak

Narrators voice

I thought the story of witchcraft seeming almost a normal 'gift'. and the wonderful southern accent from the narration gave this book a real down home feel. Loved both books I have purchased from Audible!

The book is fun
