Publisher's summary

The Lights of Sugarberry Cove is a charming, delightful story of family, healing, love, and small-town Southern charm by USA Today best-selling author Heather Webber.

Sadie Way Scott has been avoiding her family and hometown of Sugarberry Cove, Alabama, since she nearly drowned in the lake just outside her mother’s B&B. Eight years later, Sadie is the host of a much-loved show about Southern cooking and family, but despite her success, she wonders why she was saved. What is she supposed to do?

Sadie’s sister, Leala Clare, is still haunted by the guilt she feels over the night her sister almost died. Now, at a crossroads in her marriage, Leala has everything she ever thought she wanted - so why is she so unhappy?

When their mother suffers a minor heart attack just before Sugarberry Cove’s famous water lantern festival, the two sisters come home to run the inn while she recovers. It’s the last place either of them wants to be, but with a little help from the inn’s quirky guests, the sisters may come to terms with their strained relationships, accept the past, and rediscover a little lake magic.

Another good book by Webber

This is only the second book I’ve read by H Webber. I LOVE her story telling ability! She is now definitely one of favorite authors to read!

Sweet story not as good as as her others

I loved listening to Heather Webber’s other 2 books and looked for more from her. This is all I found and it seemed similar to her other stories.
It was just okay for me. I didn’t get lost into this story as much as her other two books.
The characters voices were not as smooth and a couple of them were hard to listen to. I did not like it when LC would be talking and would talk in Sadies voice. It was too different. It wasn’t as bad for the narrator of Sadie talking as LC. I think there were too many characters for just 2 people to narrate.
I just a word of causing before you think this is as good as Midnight at Blackbird cafe, it’s not.

A beautiful story of family, love, and loss. Full of moments to laugh, and a few to shed a tear or too.

healing a dysfunctional family

I love this story of a family with secrets and grievances, where no one is telling their truths as they snipe or ignore the others.

Sadie is a successful blogger who had drowned eight years ago and was under water for ten minutes. She was saved when the Lady in the Lake brought her to the surface, yet felt compelled to leave the town and her best (boy) friend, Will, and strike out on her own.

Leala (Sadie's sister) is angry because Sadie did not stay in touch like she should and because of the way her mother treated her and her husband, Connor.

Susannah, their mother, was left a window when Sadie was very young and did not relate to her daughters the way they needed.

Now add in the Lady in the Lake who granted wishes and saved people and you have a very engrossing story.

The narrators do a good job reading the story.
