The number-one international best seller reminiscent of After I'm Gone, Sister, Before I Go to Sleep and The Silent Wife--an intricately plotted, thoroughly addictive thriller that introduces a major new voice in suspense fiction; a mesmerizing and powerful novel that will keep you guessing to the very end.
No one has ever guessed Emily's secret.
Will you?
A happy marriage. A beautiful family. A lovely home. So what makes Emily Coleman get up one morning and walk right out of her life, to start again as someone new?
Now Emily has become Cat, working at a hip advertising agency in London and living on the edge with her inseparable new friend, Angel. Cat's buried any trace of her old self so well, no one knows how to find her. But she can't bury the past or her own memories.
And soon she'll have to face the truth of what she's done--a shocking revelation that may push her one step too far...

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
Not really. The narration and cadence was enjoyable. The story itself had many many holes. How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?
Without giving away spoilers, I would say the popular "gone girl" device can only work if you sprinkle the plot throughout the back and forth, that wasn't done here. When executed poorly you get a few chapters that fill in the missing pieces. Simply put, it's like the author ran out of time and decided to speed things up to makeup for it. Kinda sad, because as I said, the cadence was really enjoyable.Which character – as performed by Elizabeth Knowelden and Paul Fox – was your favorite?
Angel and RobbieIf this book were a movie would you go see it?
no.Any additional comments?
As mentioned earlier the narration was great. It helped keep me engaged. I was very disappointed that the author went from 0-60 to fill in all the missing pieces. I sort of figured that would happen when key things were missing and the book was over 3/4 completed. Oh, well, that's how it goes. Be warned this is not really suspense, it's more of a long marital therapy session with somewhat enjoyable characters along the way.Marital and Family issues doesn't equal suspense
