About this listen

Katy knows that the world changed the night the Luxen came. She can't believe that Daemon welcomed his race or stood by as his kind threatened to obliterate every last human and hybrid on Earth. But the lines between good and bad have blurred, and love has become an emotion that could destroy her-could destroy them all.

Daemon will do anything to save those he loves, even if it means betrayal. He and Katy must team up with an unlikely enemy if there is any chance of surviving the invasion. But when it quickly becomes impossible to tell friend from foe and the world begins to crumble around them, they may have to sacrifice everything-even what they cherish most-to ensure the survival of their friends . . . and mankind.

This was the perfect ending to a great series. I thought it nicely tied up loose ends and left the whole series with a satisfying conclusion. Although I am sad to say good-bye to these characters I enjoyed the entire listen.

5 stars

Wow! All I can say is WOW! I’m soo glad that the epilogue continued to follow the characters and see what life was like after the aliens attacked. Great storyline and great narration!

What an ending!

This series is so fluffing good! I loved the characters bore that i can explain. They are so well developed. Jennifer has this way of extracting all the emotion from you that she can so that you feel wholly invested in the book. I . Loved . It. I have read the whole series and can tell you it is one of my faves.

What did you love best about Opposition?

The plot and the characters. This is my favorite new adult paranormal series.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Opposition?

There were so many in this book. But since I love angst it has to be the scene when Katy sees Daemon for the first time after he "followed" the Luxen.

What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?

Rob Shapiro did an amazing job. Very good.
However, Justine Eyre did an awful job. It sounded like she was grunting. Then when she did a male voice...they all sounded alike. It is as if she tried so hard to make her voice sound different. Sometimes she just sounded like someone who had been smoking for 50 years. She is going on my list of bad narrators.
I have a list of other female narrators that would have done an amazing job.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

At times. Depended on which scenes were being read.

My favorite NA paranormal series

Plot twists Galore! I couldn’t put it down. I actually read through the night and didn’t stop until I had reached the most satisfying conclusion!

Fast paced and heart wrenching!

I love this series and characters, a lot. And listening to it this time didn't change my mind! It's fantastic. Except the mispronounced Daemon, of course. They kept it throughout the entire series, but the author herself has said the name is pronounced Damon, not Demon.

Love this series!

I liked it

I’ve been on quite the journey with this series, devouring every book and even the novellas. Most of the time, I absolutely loved it! However, this particular installment was a mixed bag. On one hand, I found myself rolling my eyes at the endless references to “donkey butt” and “donkey balls.” What was meant to be humorous quickly turned into a source of irritation. It felt like overkill, especially compared to the charm of the earlier books.

And let’s talk about the sexual content—wow, it was intense! I understand that the characters are young and exploring their passions, but there were moments where I just had to skip ahead. If it’s meant to be YA, then let’s keep it within those boundaries, right?

That said, the overall storyline was intriguing! I enjoyed the unique concept of an apocalypse with aliens, and the ending had that thrilling clutch that left me satisfied. But I have to admit, this book felt much longer than necessary, making it the weakest link in the series for me.

Good book but…
