About this listen

John O'Ryan is Orion - more than human, less than a god, cast away on the seas of Time to do battle among the Creators for the future of mankind. Now the eternal warrior finds himself separated from his great love, Anya, and marooned in Macedonia under the reign of Phillip - fighting alongside the young Alexander, and at the mercy of a Queen Olympias who is far more than she seems.

The fourth book in the Orion series sees Orion spending time with Alexander the Great and his father Philip. Same as the other sequels to Orion, not quite as good as the original. But still worth a read.

What made the experience of listening to Orion and the Conqueror the most enjoyable?

I like how Stefan Rudnicki personalizes the aditude of the characters in the novels he reads, I have heard a few books that had a good story but the narrator was so flat I couldn't listen to the book, or others who change volume so much that I'm fighting with the volume control too much to enjoy the story

What other book might you compare Orion and the Conqueror to and why?

I don't know, this title seems to be in a new category for me, the only other one I can think that it might compare to is "Enchanted" by Orson Scott Card,

What does Stefan Rudnicki bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

He is much better at personalizing charators than I am in my own mind

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

No

Any additional comments?

The only part I didn't really like was the ending where Orion gets killed by his friend whom he trusted

My first Ben Bova book, and I loved it
