About this listen

Winner Listeners Choice Award - Best Science Fiction

The Martian meets Gravity when Army Pilot Vaughn Singleton, Earth’s last man, rushes to Area 51 in search of a spaceplane after he discovers the last woman is stranded on the International Space Station and barely alive - thus beginning a race against time. The event that wiped life from the planet started at the supercollider. It created a rift in space-time. The astronaut stranded aboard the space station, Commander Angela Brown, is a theoretical physicist who used to work at the collider. She may be able to reverse the event, restoring the timeline and returning all life to the planet...if only she could get there. If you like action-packed audiobooks that leave you sitting in your car long after reaching your destination, you'll love the electrifying action in this trilogy of award-winning thrillers.

Can Vaughn find a path to space and back? Can Angela - the only person capable of reversing humanity's disappearance - survive until he does?

"Like The Martian on (and above) Earth. An epic survival story with very human characters, clever problem-solving and a gripping mystery. The end left me with no idea where Dean was going with the story, I couldn’t wait for the next book.” (Craig Alanson, NYT best-selling author of Expeditionary Force)

"R.C. Bray and Julia Whelan are individually stellar. Having them co-voice Dean M. Cole's superb Dimension Space Series is a stroke of genius. Rich with elements of every genre, Solitude is an outstanding listen.” (Nicholas Sansbury Smith, USA Today best-selling author of Hell Divers)

good story, hard to believe tech

story starts off with interesting premise and builds quickly into a book hard to put down. But then a washed up helicopter pilot is able to assemble and fly a spacecraft by himself by reading the 'manual'?
Enjoyed the dual narration.

Fantastic story!

The marketing for the book said it was a mix of I Am Legend, The Martian, and Gravity and I worried it was being a bit overhyped. But it wasn't! I thoroughly enjoyed it. Can't wait for the sequel to be released!

Wow!

It's been a long time since I've read a book with a cliffhanger! This is a fun story. I'll definitely keep listening.

Great narration by Bray, rather enthralling plot

I had to force my suspension of disbelief to hold on fora some bits (I'm a huge space fan). For instance some ISS related parts there were some details that irked me (i.e. a civilian Roscosmos cosmonaut who ISN'T the Soyuz commander?! The ISS Commander failing to react quickly to a fire emergency?! What?!).

Regardless of the innacuracies, I greatly enjoyed it and am intrigued to know where the story goes from here. Also R.C. Bray's performance is brilliant here - wouldn't expect any less from the brilliant narrator of Andy Weir's "The Martian".

Action Packed and Very Enjoyable

This book was so much fun. The story is exciting, and funny and doesn't waste very much time on hashing out the old "last man on Earth" tropes. The main characters are smart and likeable without being unbelievable, and the Naration is on point.
The only thing that threw me off a little was when the narators did the other character's voice. you get used to RC' whiskey throated voice for the male charachter, and then Julia does this moare oafish voice for him, and vice versa, and it's a little disconcerting. But only a little.

All in all a great start to a series.

One of my favorite stories...

Loved Bob and Julia's narration, for starters. Secondly, really great story including both mental and physical trials. I really love the science side of science fiction, and this book really delivered on that score. Eagerly awaiting the sequel!
