Publisher's summary

Fake dating the captain of the baseball team is all fun and games, until someone catches feelings.

Sophia Wallace is convinced her life is over when her high school cuts the journalism program. Without the elective, she loses her chance to intern with the biggest newspaper company in the county, and why? All because the baseball team needs more funding.

To make matters worse, her boyfriend publicly dumps her at a party, which is mortifying. But the icing on the cake is when the captain of the baseball team and the most popular guy at Bayview High, Walsh Hunter, decides to be chivalrous. He jumps in, throws his arm around Sophia, and declares his undying love for her. In front of everyone.

Suddenly, Sophia is thrown into a world of fake relationships and undercover journalism, and she realizes she’s way, way out of her league.

Good thing she’s got the team captain to teach her how to play.

But faced with choosing between saving her journalism class or her newfound feelings for Walsh, will she strike out or hit a home run?

Tik Tok made me buy it

I bought this book because of a tik tok. Do not regret it at all. The story is so good if you love the genre. The narrator for some reason wasn’t my favorite so it took me a few chapters to get into. But once I did I listened all day.

A fantastic fake dating story hits it out of the park!

Sarah Sutton is an obviously skilled author, and this story is no exception. The character of Sophia is multifaceted and likable, with a good measure of snark thrown in. Walsh is equally well-written, with a character arc that screams chemistry. I also loved the narrator’s work bringing them to life. This audiobook book is an easy five-stars from me!

Stands Alone

I've listened to this series all out of order and they truly stand alone. thst being said I really enjoyed this story. It's sweet and has a real feel with the characters acting and soeaking their ages. It's fun but deals with heavier topics. narration is done well.

Great YA Romance

This is the second book in the Love in Fenton County Series, a YA Romance. Sophia and Walsh's fake relationship romance is fun, sweet, and beautifully written. Sophia is lovely and determined. Walsh is handsome, and caring. The supporting characters are interesting. This is a great YA Romance. Liz Krane did a great job with the narration. Looking forward to listen to If the Broom Fits, the next book in the Series.

Not good, not great

The narrator made this book less interesting and made the story sound so immature. Not particularly worth it. Story would have been better in a different tone
