About this listen

My family's past threatens my future.

It's my second year training to become a Sentry of the South at Spellslingers Academy of Magic and I'm still fighting a reputation I don't deserve. It was my grandmother's addiction to magic that tarnished our family name - a grandmother I still love and adore. When she asks a favor of me, I can't refuse her dying wish...and it sets off a chain of events I never expected. With the help of a charming and sexy druid, I set out to locate a missing professor, but what we discover is far worse than we ever imagined.

A fight to restore my family's honor has become a fight for my life and the lives of everyone I hold dear. Will we be able to find the professor in time and preserve life in the quadrant as we know it?

Don't miss the first trilogy in the Spellslingers Academy of Magic series, Warden of the West!

very entertaining

Annabel Chase nailed this. I enjoy reading young adult, and it's hard at times to find topics and stories that interest me. I hope that she continues to 'bring it'. Saskia Maarleveld does a pretty good job on the voices too. Though a few times, I got confused as to who was speaking. It's worth getting the book.

Spells, flirting and a kidnapping!

Dani is a young woman struggling to find out who and what she is outside of her family name which has been darkened by her Grandmother's mistake. She ends up stepping in to the middle of a mystery kidnapping and an unlikely partner. They embark on an exciting journey that is fun, at times funny, and helps her grow.

Kinda boring and lacks description.

More description of characters needed, I have no idea what the main character looks like.

Great book, really good narrator…but

I really enjoyed this book and the bantering relationship the heroine has. But my only problem is the volume in the narration. It jumps up and down causing me to constantly change the volume, in the end I ended up with sore ears after listening to this audio book to not miss anything when she’s near whispering to then yelling.

I feel like I skipped something before reading this book. something with Bryn and Grey ? if so, I will find it.

I love this book and am excited to discover where the series goes!

not deep but enjoyable

this is a spinoff from another series but it was included and gives a full story overall i found it a little on the nose for literary marks but a nice easy listening book ideal for tweens and such a little simple for adults

Audibles algorithm was way of+

So much time is spent referencing what already happened in another series that I wish they had just said go read that first.

Saskia Maarleveld is a Awesome Narrator

This is a good friendship, better judgements, save the day story that has the miscreants of the paranormal banded together. The narrator Saskia Maarleveld is one of my favorites. She has the most soothing, melodic voice that just pulls the listener in. Off to book 2 in series

YA/Adult story worthy of moving on to book 2

The story has potential and was well written & interestingly enough that I will get the next book in the series. The climax seemed a bit rushed and I’d like to see this lean more than adult than YA, right now I’d call it 50/50.
The narrator does a great job which is always a bonus!

Good entertainment

I don't know why I love these types of books. But I do. The fantasy, the romantic interludes or maybe the idea of magic. The writer does an excellent job of pulling you along the story lines. And still leaves you with a surprise ending. Now I have to read the next one. The narrator is excellent. Super voice and accents just in the right places. Bravo.
