It has been four years since Darian saw his village sacked and burned by barbarians. Taking refuge with the Hawkbrothers, he soon finds his life's calling - as a Healing Adept. But even as he learns the mystical ways of this ancient race, Darian cannot escape the dangers threatening his future. Another tribe of barbarians is approaching. The time has come...to stand up and fight.

What did you love best about Owlsight?
I loved that the second book in this trilogy didn't taper off in a sort of boring rolling attempt to get to the final, more exciting book. Owlsight was just as engrossing as the first book and led well into the third. Not your typical #2 in a trilogy

I don't know how Lackey does it, but she manages to avoid that feeling of narration exhaustion.
Still, I enjoyed the characters and the story and look forward to further episodes in this story.
I consumed the story in Audible and thought that the narrator was pretty good ...but in addition to everything else slowing the story down, I felt that when he read the Griffin's conversation, the excessive rolling of the Rs and the pace of the speech was just a little bit too much.
I found myself getting impatient and setting the speed of the narration to 1.2 (which made the human characters too fast and the Griffin still a little too slow).
familiar world unfamiliar writing style

The narration, however, can be distracting to where it takes away from the overall enjoyment of a great story. I do appreciate that the reader gives each character a unique voice and tone fitting how he sees them. However, the decision to add heavy accents to certain characters was very jarring for me. In particular the accents given to all the humans from k'Leshya (but not Kelvren or Ayshen for some reason) really distracted me from the important roles they played.
Loved the story, didn't love the reader
