About this listen

'Deliciously romantic' ERICA JAMES

Wish you were here?

When Belle's quiet, idyllic life on the coast starts to crumble, it's a stranger - thousands of miles away in Italy - who provides a shoulder to cry on. And so, when Enrico sends her a beautiful gift with a note signed off 'P.S. Come to Italy!' she decides to follow her heart.

Arriving at Enrico's palazzo in beautiful Puglia, it's clear that his life couldn't be more different than the one Belle's left behind. Yet despite his flashy cars and his glamorous, warring family, she starts to realise that perhaps Enrico needs her just as much as she needed him.

Belle's holiday of a lifetime was never about falling in love - but under the sun-kissed olive trees, anything can happen...

Dynamic duo strikes again

Nicky Pellegrino's books have moved up to my favorites. They are great feel-good stories on their own, but adding Jane McDowell as the narrator is really the icing on the cake. I have listened to most of her books and each one transports me to Italy, which is what I listen for and have not been disappointed yet. I only wish they would go on longer because I am always disappointed when it comes to an end. This book was even more special because the places actually exist. I think some of the other cities in other books are fiction, I looked them up because they sounded so charming. Puglia has been on my bucket list for a long time and her descriptions of everything from the palazzo to the trulls and the food is so beautifully written. And although the endings are usually predictable, getting there is not. We expect and want a happy ending, but the journey there is key to keeping me interested and the twists and turns are appreciated.
Keep writing stories that take place in Italy Nicky Pellegrino, and you will have me as a fan and active listener every time. And of course, please keep Jane McDowell as the narrator, she is so pleasant and easy to listen to, and I think her Italian accent is very believable.
Great work.

Very knowledgeable and entertaining

I enjoyed the subtle yet, intriguing and vivid description of places, food and relationships woven through the story without being tiresome.
The narrator makes the story come alive!

À completely ridiculous story

I wanted something lightweight to listen to at bedtime so I chose this novel by an author known for writing “lightweight” love stories. However, this novel seemed like an afterthought and merely written to cash in on the popularity of her novels. A shallow story indeed!
