Pablo Escobar was a mama's boy who cherished his family and sang in the shower, yet he bombed a passenger plane and formed a death squad that used genital electrocution.
Most Escobar biographies only provide a few pieces of the puzzle, but this action-packed audiobook reveals everything about the king of cocaine.
Mostly translated from Spanish, Part 1 contains stories untold in the English-speaking world, including:
- The tragic death of his youngest brother Fernando.
- The fate of his pregnant mistress.
- The shocking details of his affair with a TV celebrity.
- The presidential candidate who encouraged him to eliminate their rivals.

I say that having previously read dozens of books on the subject, this author's prior book included. The major flaw in most of those is that they aren't thorough enough, that they have agenda, or that they want to be pro or anti the person. This series tries more to paint a picture of who Escobar was, what he did and it's impact both pro and con, as well as the brutal responses from both Cali and the Columbian/ US governments. There's a lot of items that haven't appeared elsewhere too, detailing kidnappings, bombings, and more.
Theres one complaint you'll see in the reviews, noting that the book includes advertisement for other books. Essentially, you have around 38min in each book dedicated to that, it's at the end of the book, and it's easily skipped. I wouldn't even note this but I almost didn't buy a book because it was all I saw, and I don't really see the issue.
The MOST comprehensive Paublo Esobar series EVER
