About this listen

Like all sons, Travis longs to have a good relationship with his father, who abandoned Travis as a child to pursue his gambling lifestyle. Now, as an adult, Travis is willing to forgive and forget in order to make things right with his father, even if it means reaching beyond the grave to do so.

But when Travis does reunite with his long-lost father, will he make up for lost time and repair their broken relationship, or is it true that some things and some people never change?

Facing the fact that an addiction is more powerful than a father-son relationship can be heartbreaking, but it can bring strength.

Wonderful debut

I know the author personally and had read his short story a couple of years before he had it produced as an Audible offering. It explored age old themes with a fresh and original perspective. It left me hoping he would put out more stories. Fast forward to this production and wow! When you take a great piece of original fiction and hand it over to a professional voice like Matt Godfrey it reaches a whole new level of impact. The first person story telling evoked a wistful feeling and I found myself in the narrator’s shoes. Let’s have more from this Southern storyteller!
