About this listen

Audra is so busy caring for her terminally ill mother and her demanding career as a trauma nurse she never found time for a personal life. She and her mom had formed a tight-knit team for all of her life, without a father figure of any kind imposing on their relationship. One fateful night, though, a patient brought into the emergency room will rock her world in unimaginable ways and change the course of her personal life and family ties forever.

Since graduating college, Donovan has worked for Steinbender Corporation and served as its owner, Marshall Steinbender’s right hand. His busy schedule handling the various business and personal requirements his bachelor boss imposes on his time don’t leave a spare moment to focus on his lack of personal entanglements. On the way to another business dinner, he will be detoured by a medical emergency straight into the path of a nurse who will rearrange his carefully ordered world in a manner he never saw coming.

A love story that starts on a fateful night

Parallel Lives is a story of love between two people whose lives would not have made a connection if not for the hand of fate that derails them from the regular course of their routine. Donovan, who works for Steinbender Corporation, is dedicated to his business obligations to the point of choosing celibacy, and as a result his life is devoid of real human contact. “Donovan rarely saw a sunrise or sunset from anywhere other than a jet airplane of office window.” Andrea, a dedicated trauma nurse, takes care of her terminally ill mother and finds no time for minor things like dating. Her mother worries about her complete self-sacrifice. “I just don’t want you to be alone.”

From the beginning, I could see how each one of them, imperfect as they may be, are perfectly suited to the other and routed for the moment they would realize it, too. A medical emergency brings him into her path, and dramatically change the course of their lives.

Michelle Morgan breathes life into the characters and brings into play the contrasts between them.

History repeats

I’m not sure if there was some malfunction or what happened but it played the visit from his mom in 2 different places but didn’t play the conversation with J at all. Editing issue?
