Publisher's summary

The Gallagher Brothers series from New York Times best-selling Author Carrie Ann Ryan continues with the one brother who thinks he can handle it all and the one woman who could change that.

Owen Gallagher likes everything in its place and is organized to a fault. While his brothers have each dealt with their own personal tragedies and stresses, Owen figures he's had it pretty easy. That is until his perfectly ordered world is rocked at its foundation and he's forced to rely on others. Now, he must heal his body and his soul while trying to ignore his delectable and utterly off-limits neighbor.

Liz McKinley is stressed out, exhausted, and not in the mood for a bearded and growly man in her ER. When she patches him up to the best of his ability, she's prepared to push him firmly from her thoughts. Of course, that would be easier if she and her best friend hadn't bought the house next to his. Now their paths seem to cross daily, and she is finding it harder and harder to say no to the injured and angry man next door. But she's been scarred one too many times in her life, and even though this Gallagher looks good enough to eat, she knows that sometimes, sating that craving is the worst thing she can do.

The planner and the runner

Owen is the planner of the Gallagher bros...his sticky notes & lists can drive you crazy...but he’s a gentle giant. Liz is an ER nurse who’s childhood has created a runner...she panics whenever relationships start getting serious. Owen & Liz meet when she comes to her bff rescue at a bar. Then again in the ER when Owen was brought in after a hit and run. Theeeen...turns out that Liz & her bff just bought the house next door to Owen. There is chemistry between the two but will Liz allow anything to develop? This was a sweet and funny, at times, story. We catch up with the rest of the Gallagher clan and eventually get an HEA...after really wanting to shake sense into Liz :)). Totally worth the read/listen.

Not my favorite story

The story wasn’t my favorite. I wish Liz hadn’t kept hurting Owen trying to protect herself because of her past. She overcame it all but it was a fault I really didn’t like. But I loved Owen and he had so much patience when it came to Liz and the whole Gallagher clan is the best so it was great they were all in it and could show Liz what she could be apart of. And I will say I got really excited at the surprise baby aspect of this book. It was what Liz needed to push her in the right direction and I’m a sucker for a surprise baby. The narration was all male for a male and female narration which isn’t my favorite but it was very easy to follow along.

Passion Restored

A romance that shows you can overcome your past and find your happy ending. I really liked the characters in this book and look forward to more with this family.

Giving love a chance

Carrie Ann Ryan has given us a wonderful story about giving love a chance when one person is afraid. Due to a very troubled childhood, Liz is afraid of commitment, in fact she becomes a runner if she experiences feelings of love. Owen never thought he would fine love until he meets Liz. Carrie develops characters that are troubled, compassionate, realistic, determined, great friends, loving, and have strong family ties. Liz desperately wants a loving family, but first she has to overcome her past. Gregory Salinas does a great job of portraying the emotions and personalities of these characters. I highly recommend this Audible book.

Passion Restored

Liz is a nurse who is fighting for her job due to budged cuts. Owen is an organizational freak who keeps everything in order at the company he and his brothers own. A chance encounter at a bar changes everything. I love the Gallagher brothers. I am so glad all of Jake’s brothers are getting books. Owen and Liz just fit, even when they didn’t want to. I love the teasing between the family and also how they help each other. The world that Carrie Ann Ryan has created around her Montgomery Ink series amazes me with each. There isn’t a time were I am not on the edge of my seat waiting to see what comes next.

so freakin' good. Organized Owen meets his match. Liz has issues she needs to work through and Owen is there to help.

Ok

The story is ok. I personally don’t like the story where one character repeatedly hurts the other in the effort to ‘save’ them from future pain and the female MC does that over and over in this. Narration is good and easy to follow along.

I just can’t

I can’t get beyond the narrator’s robo-voice. He brings a recorded elevator voice quality to the story which is too distracting in it’s blandness. I made it about two chapters before having to abandon ship.

Chance Meetings

This is a story about a chance meeting in a bar that turns into love. Owen and his younger brother were relaxing when two women approach them, one of which has had way too much to drink. The short meeting leaves an impression on Owen and when he continues to see Liz in various places he counts that as fate putting them together.

Cute story that continues with the Gallagher brothers and their families.

Gregory Salinas did a good job with this one.

This was a 3 star for me.
