About this listen

Thick white fog, headlights coming straight-on, and a violent car accident. A devoted father, Lucas confronts what parents fear most as he clutches his daughter’s hand in the hospital. The doctors say she has severe head trauma and there is little hope. Her fate will be decided in the next 24 hours.

Lucas is forced to wait, but he doesn't give up hope. He talks to his daughter, fighting to break through, and what unfolds is his story of love, his dreams, and the struggles he endured keeping his family together. A striking glimpse into mid-century farm life near the small town of Alexandria in Ontario Canada, discover that no path is simple. Choices are hard, and Lucas must decide between realizing his dreams and fighting to keep his family together. Told through his daughter’s eye, this biography is a true story of family, faith, and purpose, set in 1950s Canada up to today. Lucas; legacy is one we all can learn from and cheris.

OK story, bad narration

Path of Lucas
The Journey He Endured
By: Susanne Bellefeuille

This is the story of Lucas and what life he lived. This was a roller coaster ride. Happy times, sad times, and some that moved along evenly.

The narration was so so done by Ben Patrick Johnson. The female voices grated on my nerves, and even some of Lucas' irritated too.

Good Read

Path of Lucas: The Journey He Endured was a good read by Susanne Bellefeuille.Lucas Clarkson is a family man and the son of a hard working farmer. The author is from a small town in Eastern Ontario and brings Lucas’ journey through his life. He spent many days working on his dad’s farm, became a successful mechanic, and then has to face many difficult decisions. I enjoyed reading this book and cant wait to read more by the author.

Based on a True Story

I received this book in exchange for a fair review.

I found the title itself sort of promoses too much to begin with and maybe was too melodramatic. Also, in screenwriting class I was expressly told not to base things on a true story because it would mess with the flow of the story and this is exactly what is happening here. The narrator was okay, in that he had a good professional narrator voice. I didn't really pay attention to how he did different voices, because the story itself was just too sentimental and went over every detail in a distracting way, messing up the pacing. I didn't really like this book, but I would probably listen to this narrator again.
