Publisher's summary

Time is running out to find the Qilin.

We were thrown into Haret without a plan, and we have a lot of ground to cover. Allies would be nice, but not everyone is happy to see my team return. We’re finding more secrets than intel. Plus, I’m not allowed to shank my new mother-in-law, who definitely deserves a horn to the heart.

My guys are eager to share their home with me, but darkness seeps in everywhere we go. I’m ready for some serious sugar, as soon as we open the path and save the two worlds. Good thing I work best on my feet - all four of them.

The problem is, we’re heading under the sea - where a tail is more useful than wings or hooves. This girl has a few more tricks to play, though.

I’m Carlyle Licorne, and I’m so much more than a Qilin.

Ready to find out where the missing Qilin are? Scroll up now to continue this sexy series!

Please note: This is a medium burn, steamy reverse harem novel featuring one girl loving six guys. It is suitable for listeners 18 and up.

Duet narration + some fun under the sea!

Duet narration with Lucas Webley and Vanessa Moyen was amazing! Lucas can seemingly crush any accent and one man show a huge harem masterfully! Vanessa brings emotion and energy to her parts and is so fun to listen to!

Carlisle and her men are still learning about her Qilin powers and what will be necessary to defeat their enemies. They take a little trip under the sea this time. It’s fun to get a look at her Mer’s world, and of course get some good spice!

The harem has 6 guys and this book def picks up the spice! If you are wanting a really complex fantasy and epic adventure this may not be the one for you. This series definitely has plot and clearly defined unique characters, but it’s fun and spicy. I think it is definitely enhanced by the audio!

Hooked

I'm so in love with this series that I've listened to the available titles 3 times now and it still hasn't gotten old. I can't wait for the other titles to make their way onto Audible because I need more of Lucas and Vanessa in my life. They really bring the characters to life and it makes the narrative that much more interesting.

Time for some Lion King and Little Mermaid haha

We finally get to see what life is like on Haret with some of the factions/races and it was cool to see their intricacies within their own hierarchy and relationship with the other beings. I was not impressed by Sol's mom, but liked her sister and hope we get to see more of these characters after their brief meet-up with them. Also, the being/mother of Haret that you have to crawl underground to give her an offering....totally creepy but gave more insight into things. Then we get to see the complication Jai's family will give and I felt so bad for our gruff vampire. I wanted to hug him through the audiobook and make him forget his family is so messed up, but hopefully that will get resolved in book 6 or 7, not sure after the horrible cliffy of this book!!

We finally get to see how the Mer live and meet Toro's family. I wanted to shake his dad, what an idiot and coward, hopefully he can be redeemed later on, but I am not counting on it. I loved seeing Carlyle change in this environment, loved the little references to the Little Mermaid hahaha. The elusive pocket that she just HAD to see/find hahaha. So good! I was intrigued that Toro wanted to wait and it was cute their date together. It was a nice change of pace from some of the instant loves/matings we had in some of the other books (on complaints on the others, just like that they are all very different from each other). Our fish is so emotional/sensitive/cuddly, but still brings out some domination when needed 🔥🔥🔥. Again, I hope we get more time in this world, the scenery described and how they moved about was great. There was more power evolution with more time with Toro and Carlyle discovers something that will change her life. On to book 6! I am devouring these so quickly but I am kicking myself because I am going to finish them all too soon haha.

Narration was as good as the others. Both narrators keep these characters alive and I feel so much with their performances, especially with the cliffy at the end. Poor Carlyle and Jai (and the guys like Jack who was freaking out!). Like I mentioned in book 4, there were some mess-ups in the audio and they had that here as well. Repetition, a couple times the guy's accent was for the wrong character (only for a couple seconds but it caught my attention), weird sounding audio for a short duration (kinda tunnel sounding). Still a 5, just became more prominent in books 4 and 5 where it hadn't been in the previous 3 books.
