I absolutely LOVED this story. It was written brilliantly. It was unlike any storie I've ever listened to. I really hope this author will continue writing more stories of the Veil Realm series and adding them to Audible. I won't write details about this story because I have a tendency to give too much away. I can say this, if you're looking for a story that is different than stories about other world's and people then you MUST listen to this one. The author is extremely gifted and talented and it shows throughout this story.

Hollow Jackson, The narrator for this story is just as talented as the author. I was glued to this story until it ended. Hollie's talent shows as she does a brilliant job with her performance of Pine Needles. I've listened to other stories that Billie Jackson has narrated and she never let's me down. I enjoy the accents that she has given each character. I didn't find it hard to distinguish what character was speaking throughout this story. Hollow kept me immersed in this story and I couldn't get enough. Its really a wonderful story, written to perfection and the performance from Hollie was absolutely brilliant. I recommend that everyone who loves fantasy and people who don't give this story a chance. I know you'll LOVE it as much as I did.

I couldn’t listen past the first hour. The author cannot write. I’m not going to torture myself looking for examples from the book, but I’ll make one up to give you an idea of the overuse of adjectives and adverbs (often used incorrectly or illogically): I’m sitting prettily and upright in my gargantuan king-sized bed covered with mauve slippery, silken sheets, my somber blue-brown eyes earnestly watching myself in the glaring reflection of my computer screen writing this stupendous review. I bite my plump lower lip, run my sinewy tongue over my blindly white teeth, positively aflutter as to how to pen my review. I wrote that with very little thought. That’s how I think the author wrote her book. No thought, no editing.

So it went on like that for the first hour. I dozed off for a few minutes and suddenly the main character is a slave (who is raped on a regular basis) by some overlord from outer space? Something like that anyway. Bad writing, bad plot = lousy book I will return.
