About this listen

In this swashbuckling sequel to Bastion Saturn, once again our motley crew faces sentient robots, a malevolent AI, and this time, pirates.

The ringed planet and its moons remain the Wild West as the crew delves into the meaning of what makes us human, what is freedom anyway, and exploring these truths - space is hard, relationships are complicated, shit happens, and just as art is subjective, evil is often defined by the eye of the beholder.

Pirates remains a romp. Enjoy the romp.

This was a great book that was ruined by the writer using slang so much it kept jerking you out of the story. In the first book, it was hippie slang mostly at the first. In this book, it was a continuous predominantly street thug slang that when read to you made you stop listening, while the story continued, and you went what??? I think the writer was going for something like The Martian or the skippy verse and just totally missed the mark. It makes it worse that it's a really good story that is ruined by the slang. The narrator always does extremely well but unfortunately, he has to read what was written.
