Publisher's summary

Putting his player ways behind him, Jasper Dane is now strictly a one-woman man. Jasper, desperate to start a family with his wife, Abby, is devastated when she puts their baby plans on hold.

Holly has just arrived back in town for the summer, and after landing a job with Jasper, the two form an unlikely friendship.

Abby’s immediate dislike of Holly and Jasper spending time together causes him to question his wife’s fidelity. Broken hearted at Abby’s sudden change of heart and suspicious of her reasons, Jasper takes action, sparking a chain of events that make his once well-planned-out life spiral out of control.

To get what he wants, he first has to lose everything.

Excellent

This book is an excellent conclusion to the series and was written so well. She brought the character alive and for those readers who have dealt specifically with sexual abuse, I caution you. It addresses the topic cautiously yet very optimistically giving the reader hope.
Do yourselves a favor and read The whole series.

The Aftermath

Jasper broke my heart, I loved how much he loves his family he goes through so much in this book. I love that it is a few years after Broken Silence. Because we really get to see Cole and Oakley and how they are doing in the aftermath. But it is also everyone else who and how they are coping. Especially Jasper. He really has a lot of hate and betrayal he has to work through.

I loved how this book played out do I wish he didn’t have to go through more heartache yes but I think it had to happen this way for him.

Holly was awesome and even though the truth isn’t always easy she really lays it out for him in a way he understood that he did need the help.

Fantastic narration!

Enjoyed Immensely.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

This book was refreshing, I did not expect it to be about the brother, but in cases where the whole family is affected by a stupid family member - it was a refreshing, story of their life and the entangled drama. The story was beautifully told, I enjoyed immensely.

What other book might you compare Players, Bumps and Cocktail Sausages to and why?

none

Have you listened to any of Joe Jameson and Eilidh Beaton ’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

no

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Actually, it was the epilogue.

maybe needs another good edit

This book seemed like two stories stuck together with a rope bridge. The first one is an immature man whose wife is not fully invested in the marriage. Despite being told how much therapy could help, how badly he needs it, and how many mornings he wakes hung over, he stubbornly sticks to toxic masculinity values and soldiers on.

The other story jumps to a love story and office romance, where he is still immature but finally accepting help. There's no real transition between the two.

Beaton just cannot get a male voice right, either in depth or inflection. Jameson does a female voice fairly convincingly. This would be much better as a true duet, because both performers do their gender beautifully.
