Publisher's summary

Winter has arrived, and it will wreak havoc on Redemption.

Lives will be lost.

Hearts will be broken.

But it’s nothing compared to the storm that’s coming.

Dark clouds of a different kind are gathering on the horizon, and with them comes an enemy of unimaginable power.

There’s a war on its way. When it’s over, only one side will be left standing.

Callie, Drake, and the others will do everything they can to ensure they are the victors.

But this is no fairy tale, and win or lose, there’ll be no happy endings.

Holy crap and more!!!

Me: that was terrible and a travesty.
Hubs: you’re going to leave a 5 star review anyway.
Me: yes, but not because it wasn’t amazing just, dang it… it isn’t over.

It’s so good. I love this group of characters and all they encompass.
I despise I’m living in the before world where everything feels like an upside down air balloon.
We need love, community, compassion and hope. Sometimes it doesn’t feel like that is easy to grasp, but Callie and her friends make it feel like it is in reach.
I want to be more like Callie or Wren from his other series. They are so awesome.
From the first moment Kim spoke life into this book I was comforted. She brings the mayhem to life. Yes, I cried but I knew there were also going to be laughs.
Thank you so much for my requested review copy, I can’t wait for the next installment. So what if it isn’t a tidy bow, we want to go on this journey with you as much as you’ll take it.

Sooooo amazing

I’m always left wanting more! Good thing Artinian is such a prolific writer, I usually don’t have to wait a super long time for the next installment of any of his series. This series is just as good as his others! You will love the characters. The sarcasm and the love between everyone is probably exactly like you and your friends or family members. You will laugh and probably cry, I did. Ready to see what becomes of salvation, redemption and all of the people involved in this series.
Kim Bretton is my favorite narrator. She can do no wrong!

Power Part 1

Power Part 1 by Christopher Artinian was so good! He did such a good job writing book 6 of this continuing dystopian tale. I love these characters and how their personal stories keep unfolding and developing. Kim Bretton's narration brings the characters to life. Can't wait for more in this amazing series!

Increasing Obstacles

I was entertained by book 6 of "The Burning Tree" series. Winter has come to the people of Redemption. Winter's weather tested their survival skills. Besides the weather, another challenge was growing on the horizon that the residents of Redemption would be called upon to overcome or risk everything. The worldbuilding for this series has been extensive. My liking for some of the characters has increased. My admiration of the Machiavellian nature of the plot twist has escalated. I can't wait for the next installment of this series. Kim Bretton's narration was awesome, and her performance enhanced my enjoyment of the story. I was given a free copy of the audiobook, and I have voluntarily posted this review.

great listen

I really enjoyed this installment of the series. This author never disappoints... although I wanted to punch Chloe in the throat for a bit. I guess not all the characters can have the backbone of our Callie. The narrator did a great job.

Power has got it

Another great installment from Christopher Artinian and Kim Bretton. The plot is fantastic, I enjoy post apocalyptic fiction mainly to dive into people and why they would do what they would do. This shows what could happen if people are only out for themselves or if they truly want you to help them human race. Kim is an Amazing reader, I don’t know how she keeps all the characters straight. As always, I am on the edge of my seat for the next installment.

Winter in Redemption

Christopher Artinian is one of my favorite authors and this book is another in his awesome lineup! In a lot of cases, a series tends to get boring or lose strength as it goes on, but that is never the case with his books.

Redemption is growing as a community, but they are now facing a horrible winter. Will they be able to survive? And, as usual, the peace that they are slowly starting to find is shattered by a megalomaniac who wants total power! The community of Infinity, which Callie and her friends rely on for trading is taken over by the Administration and things will never be the same.

You can never be sure who is friend or foe when you live in an apocalyptic world and that is tested throughout this book. Those who seem to have changed their ways have to revert to their former (often evil) past in order to save their way of life. But, will those who have come to think of them as friends be able to overlook the things they do in the name of community?

The author weaves in some social commentary in this series and this book is no exception. But, it is not done in a preachy manner and works perfectly in this context. I think that we would all do well to heed some of the warnings here.

I appreciate the fact that the characters I have come to consider as friends have weaknesses and problems and aren't just one-dimensional heroes/heroines. The facts of depression, suicide and hopelessness are totally believable and really bring this story to life. I can't wait to see what happens next with Callie and her friends!

Kim Bretton does her usual amazing job with the narration and her different voices for the characters makes them even more personal. She has the perfect pacing and adds a lot to this book.
