Publisher's summary

Cassie Forrest isn't surprised to learn that the day she’s decided to get her life together is also the day the world ends. After all, she’s been on a self-imposed losing streak since her survivalist parents died: she’s stopped painting, broken off her engagement to Adrian and dated a real jerk. Rectifying her mistakes has to wait, however, because Cassie and her friends have just enough time to escape Brooklyn for her parents’ cabin before Bornavirus LX turns them into zombies, too. This is difficult enough, but Cassie’s tag along ex-boyfriend and her friend’s bratty sister have a knack for making everything, even the apocalypse, more unpleasant. When the two attract a threat as deadly as the undead to their safe haven, Cassie’s forced to see how far she’ll go to protect those she loves. And it’s a lot farther than she’d anticipated. This, coupled with Adrian’s distant voice on Safe Zone Radio and, of course, the living dead, threaten to put Cassie right back into the funk she just dragged herself out of. Survival’s great and all, especially when you have leather armor, good friends and home-brewed beer, but there’s something Cassie must do besides survive: tell Adrian she still loves him. And to do that, Cassie has to find faith that she’s stronger than she thinks, she’s still a crack shot and true love never dies.

Emotional and intense, with witty dialogue

What other book might you compare Until the End of the World to and why?

Because my venture into zombie style apocalyptic fiction is rather new, I can only compare to other books in the fantasy genre. And doing that would be degrading the authors witticism.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I laughed quite often, no crying . Though honestly I did get emotionally involved in the novel.

Any additional comments?

The author did a good job in building the characters. I found myself loving this book the farther in I got. Generally half way through I give up on books. This one held my attention until the conclusion ( which was slightly predictable ). But I did find myself buying the sequel even before I had finished the first!

Well-written, thrilling, & characters aren't dumb!

I loved this book! I have tried to read other prepper-fics, but they're typically horrible. Most prepper fics feature heavy political and religious themes, not to mention bad writing and Mary Sue protagonists. Happily, this book breaks the mold!

The biggest thing that stands out about these characters is that they're neither stupid nor sanctimonious. Yes, they make mistakes and they make bad choices on occasion, but they do them with sound reasons. They're interesting the pacing is excellent. The author really excels at the terror, too. The zombies were horrifying and the danger felt real and visceral.

But the bit that I loved best about this book is that it reflected preppers as normal. Ok, as maybe a little out there, but for the most part normal with good intentions. It highlights that, yeah, prepping may seem a little kooky when times are good, but should anything go wrong it will save your life in a dozen ways.

This book also rightly shows how you cannot depend on the government to save you in a crisis. Their priorities are different than saving every individual, and once a crisis hits a certain point, even the best-intentioned government policies won't protect you. Only people who are prepared to help themselves will be able to help others in a major crisis.

This book is a keeper. A well-written, fun zombie book that also aligns with my values and beliefs? Yes, please and thank you!

Awesome Story of a Zombie Appocolapse

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would recommend this book and all of the series. It is all about the need to survive and continue life verses, just about zombies. There is a real set of stories and you get to care about the people.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I cannot remember the name of my favorite character because I've read several books since reading this one, but I do know she is the main character. She exemplifies strength when it is really needed so bad. I love to read books about strong women, who still have feelings as well.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The end of the book when the main character ends up having a relationship with her ex-boyfriend and really making the best of a bad situation.

If I could give it ten stars ...I would

This book was wonderful. It had romance and stressful friendships. Along with educational information on survival, food storage and being self sufficient in an emergency. It had zombies, but they weren't the main focus of the book.

Zombies and a HAPPY ENDING?

I was not one who would read and enjoy a zombies story, unlit this story. This is a great story, I loved, loved, loved it. I laughed, cried and truly enjoyed Thais work of art. Great theme, great characters, great flow. Everything was great about this book the pace from the beginning right thru to the epilogue. Heroes, villains, and those in distress this book has it all, with lots of love thrown in for good measure. If you enjoy reading any type of book, you will do yourself well by reading this.
