Publisher's summary
While investigating corruption and evil alliances within the American government, an assassination attempt on Vice President Aaron Banner leaves him in a coma. Only a week earlier, Aaron gave his chief of staff, Paula Brackett, an envelope with instructions to, "Open only if something happens to me".
Paula soon finds herself fighting not only for her country, but for her life. While Aaron is in a coma, he is transported in time to personally experience key moments in history. Aaron is taught unforgettable lessons from some of the wisest men who have ever lived George Washington, Christopher Columbus, Benjamin Franklin, Abraham Lincoln, and others.
This audiobook beautifully blends remarkable research and details of the founding of America with an inspiring and engaging story.

Partnership Is the New Leadership is the rallying cry for effective leadership in today's world. In the 1980s, Ken Blanchard changed the conversation from management to leadership and began to refocus, retool, and refine the approach to leadership. Leadership by Example is an accessible and inspiring guide to good leadership based on a popular lecture that Dr. Sanjiv Chopra has presented to thousands. Very few of us are leaders all the time, in everything we do, but all of us can become a leader in specific situations. In a committee, in business, at a social club, or religious institution - we all find a time in our lives when we can lead. Few people set out knowingly to become leaders; rather, they see a need and find a way of dealing with it, and often others choose to follow their example.

Baltimore Congressman Elijah Cummings was known for saying, “We’re better than this.” He said it in Baltimore, a city on the verge of explosion over police treatment of citizens. He said it in Congress when microphones were shut down, barring free speech. He said it when the president flaunted his power and ignored the Constitution. He said it when the president resorted to bullying, name-calling, and feeding racial divisions. We are better than this. He continued to say it until his final days last October.

When President McCain dies and Sarah Palin becomes president, the listener, along with the nation, stumbles down a terrifyingly credible path toward theocracy, realizing too late that the Christian right meant precisely what it said. In the spirit of Philip Roth’s The Plot Against America, one of America’s foremost lawyers lays out in chilling detail what such a future might look like: Constitutional protections dismantled; all aspects of life dominated by an authoritarian law called “The Blessing.”

Story
In The Grouchy Historian, Ed Asner leads the charge for liberals to reclaim the Constitution from the right-wingers who use it as their justification for doing whatever terrible thing they want to do, which is usually to comfort the comfortable and afflict the afflicted. It's about time someone gave them hell and explained that Progressives can read, too.

Story
The Life and Times of Frederick Douglass was Douglass' third autobiography. In it he was able to go into greater detail about his life as a slave and his escape from slavery, as he and his family were no longer in any danger from the reception of his work. In this engrossing narrative he recounts early years of abuse; his dramatic escape to the North and eventual freedom, abolitionist campaigns, and his crusade for full civil rights for former slaves.

Story
If You Can Keep It is at once a thrilling review of America's uniqueness, and a sobering reminder that America's greatness cannot continue unless we truly understand what our founding fathers meant for us to be. The book includes a stirring call-to-action for every American to understand the ideals behind the "noble experiment in ordered liberty" that is America. It also paints a vivid picture of the tremendous fragility of that experiment and explains why that fragility has been dangerously forgotten.

Story
Washington’s End begins where most biographies of George Washington leave off, with the first president exiting office after eight years and entering what would become the most bewildering stage of his life. Embittered by partisan criticism and eager to return to his farm, Washington assumed a role for which there was no precedent at a time when the kings across the ocean yielded their crowns only upon losing their heads. In a different sense, Washington would lose his head, too.

Story
If you think you know George Washington, think again. This is the amazing true story of a real-life superhero who wore no cape and possessed no special powers—yet changed the world forever. It's a story about a man whose life reads as if it were torn from the pages of an action novel: Bullet holes through his clothing. Horses shot out from under him. Unimaginable hardship. Disease. Heroism. Spies and double-agents. And, of course, the unmistakable hand of Divine Providence that guided it all.

Protecting the ever disappearing Constitution
So, I'm a bit mixed on this one.... I really liked the message and it was done in a fun political mafia/spy thriller plot line. Many of the dark plots we can see going on today which added a reality level to it that definitely increased the suspense and reaction. I do agree with the authors perspective on the scary turn our country is headed, and I do feel that we need to be able to teach the Christian principles that guided and have guarded our great country and the fore fathers. This is very much a Christian political spy thriller, it's well written and very thought provoking-- in a good way. Recently I read another book that summed up the difference between socialism and communism perfectly. It said basically that socialism is voted in and communism is instituted by force, however they both have the same end result. I do think our schools are doing a disservice to our kids by not showing them the truth of what a socialist and communist society really looks like. I have friends that have been able to get out of those countries and they are saddened to see our country heading in that direction because they have lived it and don't want to go back. I guess for me personally it felt a little too preachy in a couple places and yet in other spots it was perfect- it's a task I wouldn't want because I feel like it is a fine line. I do wish a little more history was given on some of the great historical giants shown in the story. All too often you hear only the good or the bad, but I think we all need more reminders that even the best of people are imperfect. Those great men had their own imperfections that they needed to learn and grow from but that still doesn't lessen their character, value, impact nor should it criminalize them. The narrator did a great job and was enjoyable to listen to. I would definitely recommend to those who like Christian novels and spy thrillers, it really was a fun and quick read. —I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

God keep The American Democracy
Yes, in these time we need divine intervention to help restore democracy to America. Perhaps the one common fact that this story share is these are very dark tines for America. My personal politics differ with who is the evil, the author points to the left, his opinion and I defend his right to this opinion. However it's the path to change and the absolute need that we the people must fight for change now is message that many listener would share with the author.
Greed, deceit. warmongering, lying, and indifferent to the people as well as the constitution for personal power and gain is the evil. With out a change of course, without rooting out these evil, the American democracy is doomed. This story strongly msjes this reality absolutely clear.

Spy-thriller story set in the White House
This spy-thriller reads like it could have popped right off of today's news headlines! Except the protagonist has the benefit of being able to engage with past Presidential luminaries.
The action moves fast. The story has plot twists and surprises. A thoughtful examination of America's history and lessons we all should have learned from.
Ijust listened to Serve and Protect on Audible. Today, it is about 2 weeks before the 2020 Presidential election. This week, a laptop owned by the former Vice-President's son was found to have emails indicating the former Vice-President-who is now running for President was involved with RICO violations, bribery, extortion and quid pro quo deals to protect the gas company that his son had sat on the Board. The same political party used a call from the current President to that country's President to try to impeach the current President for asking the foreign country's President to "look into" allegations of the former VP's son involvement with illegal activity. Along with THAT, 30,000 emails from the former Secretary of State's illegal, private server and cell phones of the same party as the VP were recovered by the Department of Justice. We will find out soon what other illegal activity the Sec. of State was involved in.
This book is nearly the type of espionage that has been happening-and so, rings true. I recommend this book to anyone who likes action adventure stories and hopes future enemies of the State would be found out and America could rise from the ashes of past tragedies.

Good Read
Preserve Protect & Defend was a great read by Cameron C. Taylor. Vice President Aaron Banner is investigating corruption and evil alliances in the American government. There is an assassination attempt that leaves him in a coma. A week earlier, he gave his Chief of Staff an envelope that say "open only if something happens to me." Paula finds herself fighting for the country and her life. Aaron is transported to some key moments in American history. I really enjoyed this book and can't wait to read more by the author.

A fun dramatization for teaching important ideas
This is a very good novelization of possibilities caused by the underhanded acts in government. It comes across just a little over zealous in promoting only Conservative textualtism As the only valid choice in the face of any number of problems, but it is Very masterfully told. The end begins to turn into a sales pitch, but it is published by a director of a nonprofit and it doesn’t go too far overboard so it is definitely still worth listening too. I love the true patriotic stories contained woven around fictional present events.
