Publisher's summary

It’s hard to imagine dating when I secretly share a bed with my best friend every night. When we can barely spend an hour apart. When he’ll kill anyone who tries to touch me.

We finally escaped the trailer park, but maybe we weren’t ready for freedom. My best friend Beck doesn’t know how to leave the gang he’s always known, even if it costs him his life. And I don’t know how to find my purpose and confidence as a trans man.

We’re too lost in our fears to see what’s right in front of us. But when I almost lose him, it only takes five words for us to fall: I heard about a game: I run. He hunts me. And if he catches me… there are no limits in the dark.

Daylight is a different matter, full of the ghosts of everything we’ve lost. Until we stumble across someone who needs us, who forces us to take the broken pieces of our pasts and put them together into something strong. The courage it takes to become who we were all along.

A best friends to lovers romance featuring a trans MC, opposites attract, possessiveness, and primal games.

Amazing

I absolutely loved this story and the narrators did such a fantastic job. Dallas was such a well written character and Sam Stark was phenomenal bringing him to life. This was my first experience with Sam Stark as a narrator and it won't be the last. I'm glad Bryant Walker returned to the Dirty Strays because I loved him in Bad Dogs and he did not disappoint in Pretty Dogs.

Dallas and Beck have such an amazing love story. Best friends to lovers does not always work well for me but this was beautifully written and honestly I could not have pictured them being with anyone else. Beck is fiercely protective over Dallas and is also the only person who Dallas can truly be himself with.

Riley Nash always knows how to put me in my feelings and this book was no different. All of his "broken" boys have a special place in my heart. I can't wait to see what he does next.

Dallas ~ Beck

Dallas and Beck are best friends who have created an inseparable bond through their traumatic pasts. As they navigate their rough lives, they become closer and closer and eventually realize they are meant for each other.

Dallas and Beck were not what I was expecting, they were so much more. Both of them surprised me, shocked me and even brought tears to my eyes. I love the found family they have created with Scout and Rome and their additions, Theo and Calvin.

I am hoping and waiting for more from the Dirty Strays world.

🎧 After listening to Bryant Walker and Sam Stark's narration of Beck and Dallas' story, my rating has gone up. Both Bryant and Sam did an amazing job bringing all of the characters to life and making me feel like I was part of the story. Sam Stark is a new narrator for me and I am looking forward to listening to more books by this narrator.

This book was perfect. 6 stars out of 5. 🥹

This book. THIS BOOK. Ugh, I needed it. I didn’t know I needed it. But there were just so many moments that made me want to scream in pure love and adoration for these characters. I just. I don’t know that I can do this book justice with mere words, but I’ll try.

Riley Nash and Found Family are like peanut butter and jelly. The found family here is just so incredible that I could scream. The trans joy. OMG THE TRANS JOY. The trans MC was everything I ever wanted, and the other MC was so heckin sweet that I could just punch through a wall. Theo and Calvin were such unexpected but perfect additions to this group of dirty strays. Calvin needs his own special shout out because I could just throw up right now with how much I love him. This book!

One for the ages!

Ughhh!!! I think I fell more in love with this one than I already was. Reading this storyline was enough to make me weak, between the struggles and good times, there was just the right amount of balance to make such a beautiful story!

The narrative was beyond perfect!! How he was able to capture Beck’s personality and give him life was beyond amazing. And those chase scenes between Dallas and Beck, OMG!!! Sam grasped Dallas’ character and ran with it!!
